A day out yesterday for the traditional Good Friday Grey Arrows Blackpool Tower Sunrise meet-up!

An early start for the 545am sunrise, and a cold and windy day - thankfully not gusty though!

Some stunning footage captured, a good catchup with friends and a chance to meet some new fols too, and a sunrise flight that I am happy with - all done within VLOS and within the CAA Drone Code!

What a great view of the tower.

I was expecting you to line up the sun through the cage at the top at some point.

Amazing footage.  I love how you framed the Blackpool Tower with the sun directly behind it around the 2:40 mark.  Perfect choice in background music.

Thanks... I was at maximum height - you can see the sign in one of the upper windows that says 390 feet with a line - so I couldnt go up any further to capture the low sun in the top area, would have loved to, but it would have meant waiting a good while for it to get higher up before I could capture it, and as we were with friends....

Thank you kindly, I had a hard time choosing the music before I started the edit, I had this piece earmarked for something later in the year, but the footage demanded something as good as this music... May re-use it in the future, may not..

That's a pity. It could have been worth waiting for under other circumstances.

Thanks, it is a tourist landmark, built in Victorian times for mere mortals to ascend and see the view, they do have lifts that go up there, but I haven't been up the Tower myself - have flown a light aircraft 700ft above it though back when I did my PPL at the local airfield, Squire's Gate...

Here again: great tower, would love to dive it

Thanks... yes, most of it was taken at 120m - 390ft above the total spot on the promenade in front of the tower - I would have loved to fly over the top and get some other viewpoints, but I stuck to the CAA rules - one of the windows has a sign stating 390ft (120m) which can be seen in some of the shots if you watch on a large screen...

Nope, I shoot in normal mode, then colour grade it very slightly in DaVinci Resolve - that seems to work for me, and I am getting results I am happy with and people are remarking on, so as it isn't broken I don't plan on fixing it
