They have scaffolding on 2 sides of it. They hired me to get the scaffold work. It was my first flight in NYC. This is downtown out of class B airspace which is rare. 13 Stories. I took a few pics around the city while I was there.

Yes I'll post a few shots while I work on the video. I had to stay above everything because the streets were to narrow and busy.

Every building has to keep the sides of the building from degrading and falling. This is going through renewal and maintenance.

This shot plays with the equilibrium, cool shot.

That's a lot of construction work going on for sure.  Nice topdown shot Charles.

Must be an old building then,  we dont really see that happening here.

We had a few incidents where lose bricks killed people. I don't think things are built as well here. NYC created regulations for inspections and upkeep. Due to the heavy population scaffolding has to be build to protect pedestrians. The cost has to be astronomical.

The engineer couldn't figure out why I wouldn't take off from the street when school was letting out.  There was an elementary school across the street.

You can tell he is not a drone pilot and definitely not aware of the rules or risks involved.

That's true and the average person doesn't have a clue as to what all is required to obtain a Part 107 license and to fly legally and safely.

I have to start studying again. My two years is up on Sept. 1.

I have 14 months before I have to do the refresher.  Good thing is I have free access back to the study material from Pilot Institute.  The metro and charts is what I usually have to work on the most.

I love pilot Institute. I have taken many of their courses.I actually use their platform to train my students at artlab, with Greg's permission. He's a great guy.

He puts out some really informative videos and the training tutorials are excellent.

Yes the drudgery of controlled airpsace maps is boring though.

Vertiginous is exactly what I got trying to fly the cinewhoop I bought a couple of years back.  Even happened while sitting down and trying to fly. Oh well, I still enjoy seeing the exhilarating FPV footage.

I'd have to sit down to do that too, I reckon.  I don't know how those guys manage it standing up

For me i think it has to do with the goggles as I got that same feeling when I was using night vision goggles.  However, I don't get that feeling wearing my scuba diving goggles.  Maybe my brain matter is just messed up.

I teach the basics to new drone pilots using pilot institute. The only part I have to bone up on is the sectionals, because we realyl don't use them.

Unfortunately, they are on  the test so yes it always requires a bit of reviewing.  Some of the stuff on the Part 107 test seems to come from a private pilot's license exam.

I think it's on purpose. They want you to relate to real pilots.
