True... but I'm hoping DJI will come to the party and replace under Care Refresh.  We'll see how that goes.

A flotation device would adversely affect performance.  Besides, even the drone could float, I wouldn't have been able to recover it.

I'm sorry for your loss.

The still image that shows before the video is clicked makes it look kind of like you were tubed and got closed out; I didn't realize it was splashback from the rocks that knocked you out of the air until I saw it.
Anyway, lesson learned, eh?

I see what you mean... the still image looks a bit like a wave curl.  Now that would be some bold flying - riding the wave curl like a surfer.
And lesson learned:  Don't fly along the splash point of those rock ledges.
