I have just received back my P3P after repairs ...

It has Go 3.1.10, FW 1.10.09, Android

Previously I would have on-board video and always used MP4 ... with no other files ....

Now I am getting SRT files recorded with my MP4 .....

SRT files are usually Subtitle files for movies ... so ??

You can turn recording the SRT files off if you want, but I always leave them on, they don't take up much space and sometimes the info is useful.

And as far as I remember the .srt files can be loaded into a spreadsheet and edited to remove (and add I think) any of the data. So for example time and date stamp could be displayed but not the GPS data.

Interesting.  I was able to open an SRT if I imported it as a text file and selected tab delineated to get it into columns and individual cells.  I couldn't see how to get it to export as a working SRT file again.  The tab separations seem to get stripped out as the new text file is saved, breaking the SRT.

You can edit them in a text editor, although it would take a lot of time to do much.
You can also edit them with subtitle editors since it is a standard subtitle format.
You can also upload them to YouTube since it understands SRT subtitle files.

Realistically they are only really useful for checking the data, for things like exposure settings that are not stored in the flight logs, or possibly the exact GPS location since the flight logs can be difficult to exactly tie up with the video.

I found the spreadsheet concept novel and interesting.  I thought that if I were to import the file, allocate values to cells etc, I could strip out various columns of data I didn't wish to include e.g. GPS location for privacy, but provide all the rest.  It isn't as straight forward as just killing a column though, as the cells end up intermingled with other data.  I could select the relevant cells with some sort of formula or conditional selection.  The only problem I was having was exporting from the spreadsheet to a srt file.  An SRT editor wouldn't be as effective in my view, and would lack the advantages of using a spreadsheet.  I would want it to be compatible with VLC for playback.  Any one with any ideas?

Well, I made an excel macro to remove all the information in the SRT file, specific for mavic air2, that is my case. You start importing the SRT file to excel, by choosing the "Delimited" file, ant then you go to Developer, and runs the MACRO. It cleans out all the text. After the process is completed, you just copy all the text to notepad, and don't forget to delete the empty spaces after the last line in notepad, save as .SRT and it is ok! You can now add the SRT file to you video much more comprehensive way.

It is a pretty thar the SRT file comes with tons of information, useless, but the horizontal distance is not present. DJI can fix that please, and insert the horizontal distance?

The pictures below shows how to proceed, and the excel files is in this link, once that we cannot upload files in this forum.

You can see the result in a just now released video I put in youtube here.
