I'm using a DJI OM4 gimbal with an iPhone 13 Pro Max running the DJI Mimo app. For many years now, I have been using iMovie on a MacBook Pro to edit my video clips into movies. Before I bought the OM4 and used my iPhone to shoot videos, those videos would be encoded in .mov format. Since .mov format is compatible with iMovie, I had no problem importing those videos into iMovie. Now that I'm using the OM4 and Mimo, the resulting videos are being encoded in .mp4 format which is not compatible with iMovie. Therefore, it looks like I will have to convert every video I shoot using the OM4 from .mp4 to an iMovie compatible format. Is there a way that I can control the encoding format used by the Mimo app? Is there something else I can do to avoid the need to convert OM4/Mimo videos? Why did DJI decide to use .mp4 encoding instead of native iPhone .mov?
