Having seen some posts regards directly photographing the sun from a drone, I thought I should share an interesting observation of just how little an area the moon, and thus the sun, occupies in the sky. I've placed a (i) marker just beneath the moon in the image. From time to time I catch the moon in 360s during daytime and am always disappointed that the moon does not play a bigger part.
In full context of the panorama (https://roundme.com/tour/103755/view/261590/) it's surprising to realise just how small it appears. Also of note is that the sun must occupy a similary small area (given that it will be obscured by the moon duting a total eclipse) but appears larger in this image only due to the effects of lens flare.
