Having just bought a Mavic Classic passed the A2 I was hoping to fly it at a minimum of 5 using the 1:1 rule. But the latest announcement has banished me to 50 metres. I note that in reality for myself that flying even the mini in an urban enviroment close to people just annoyed them and so I wouldn't have flown near people anyway. I don't feel that the 50 metre rule is that restrictive in that regard for me as I fly well out of the way in countryside beauty spots etc. Flying in an urban enviroment means that you can't VLOS far anyhow so for me its pretty pointless flying. As a photographer I prefer dawn and sunset so not many people about either. For example if I head to Avebury Stone Circle I can fly at sun up or sun down with nobody near my drone for 50 meters. Flying over houses I fly as high as I can circa 110 meters so people don't even notice when a take off from my garden, apart from an intial sound.
