My son in law has some vision problems and finds it challenging to focus on smaller screens.  I purchased an ipad 2 for its 9.7" screen which is very easy to fly and manuver.  I have a 9.7" android which has to much lag at a distance of 1200' to 1400' from controller.  I hear apple streams much better.  The Apple pilot app is currently incompatible with an ipad 2.  Any advice?

You must have a more current iPad with an A7 or the newer A8X CPU.
I have an iPad 3 and it wouldn't download the Pilot App when it was still the current App.
So I bought an iPad Air 2 64GB Cellular...You could return it, and exchange for a more up to date model.
It's only a few more weeks until the newer iPads hit the shelves...

I appreciate the info.  Having one of the best is not much fun without a good monitor.

We are currently learning to fly and are in neighborhoods with lots of noise.  In open areas he can see the lights for about 100 yds.

Can he tell which lights are facing forwards or backwards????

At times he does very good but bright days are a problem.

I hope he keeps flying and him being as young as he is could possibly hone in another sense to see the drone with just keep flying and be safe
