Now, I know this is not a DJI recommended mod to the remote, but I just orderred the DJI Phantom 3 Standard Signal Range Extender Antenna Kit by ARGtek.
The question I have, is do others here want to me to provide a review and results on this product since I have only seen the same video of the ARGtek and no solid customer reviews.

I've seen comparisons in other forums but I'm always looking for more. ARGtek list the specs and dbi gain for their antenna but I've never seen any specs on a DBS. I've got a couple of Phantoms with the Itelite panels.

Figured I would start with the ARGtek since is appears to be very easy to install with no drill onto the remote.  Though the Advanced and Professional folks here have ranges that makes me jealous, my goal is to find a solid solution for the standard model.  Did the windsurfer DIY kit and did see an improvement but still would rather have that peace of mind I wont get a signal loss just doing basic flights.

So When the ARGtek arrives, I will go into detail what i find.

but i don't know how but i don't know how the ARGteck works,  i have a friend that use the ARGtek antenna and he gets 1.5 km in CE mode , is not bad

I have also did the ARGtek mod.
I got pretty decent range with the stock antenna but was lacking in the FPV video.
It would cut out on me after 1000-1500 ft and I would have to fly blind.
I get a much longer range for the video with ARGtek antenna. I now get into the 3500-4000 range for video before I lose it.
That is far enough for me.

The good thing about the ARGtek, is that you can remove the antennas and replace them with something different if you wish. This make experimenting a bit easier.
I do plan to in the future try a different antenna for the 5.8G just to see if it would make a difference.
Also I want play around with 2.4G antennas by adding boosters to them. Just to have something to do.
Want to try and find the best combination.

Wow!  so excited to get mine in today.

The following are pictures of the installation of the Range Extender.  Quite easy to install.  My inital flight test will be hopefully tonight.

I haven't kept track of my range for every flight since I added these antennas but I know for sure that I got over 3600 feet at least once, before I lost video.

Did a test last night, and good news is that Yes it does very much help the Phantom 3 Standards range.  With the normal antenna tests with a lot of WiFi interference, the bird would have issues when reaching 500m (1640 feet). With the modification, the same test at the same range had no signal issues with the same flight plan.

More tests will be done for longer ranges, but so far this is looking to be a positive result.

Easy to install, and so far looking positive.

Installed mine today, first flight went well upto 200m with no issues, second flight took it to 60 metres while I was standing quite close and lost video and red light on the controller cancelled return to home as still had control of the quad. Landed and it connected again.

I think the antennas were not angled well at the time.  Will test it again tomorrow as didn't have a lot of time.

Install took 15 minutes.

Did you use any hot glue on the connectors?  I did to isolate them.

nice but can you give us a number , with the dbs i reach 1.5 to 2 km in the city so im just wondering whats the difference between the dbs and ARGTec  also im in CE mode

No, just glued the wires.  Noticed that the original connections had that white stuff over them, I'll try it out tomorrow and do another test.

Checked the wiring and put some more hot glue to isolate the connectors.  Another test and got to around 450-500 m and got weak video signal a couple of times, everything still worked fine.  In the middle of the South Downs so no interference.  Could hardly see the quad so doubt I will test the full range.

Maybe they get better range in the States due to the CCE/CE differences.

Yes, I do have my original Antenna. I thought DJI has a parts section.

DJI don't sell that part. Go figure.
I have one, but I kinda promised it to someone else.
If he does not respond to me I will contact you.

Did another couple of range tests on the Argtek again and lost signal at 500m - may buy the windsurfer instead and revert back to original antenna.  I do not any real distance flying but I would of liked to of had a stable signal at these sorts of distances.

In the UK so that may affect the range.

Someone that changed the antenna and have already the original  are interested on selling it ?
My antenna is broken and I would like to buy the original but DJI don't sell it .

I would consider selling mine.  Odd they have every other part but that.

Very happy with DBS lots more range for filming, had it over 2 miles 2 times in open area

My range with the Argtek mod has been a solid 5280 feet or one mile @ 350 feet up.

Would you recommend the Argtek for a more stable connection and live feed?  I live in the UK.

Depends how far you are flying - upto 400m just go with a windsurfer, over that then DBS all the way - saves fiddling with the antennas everytime you pack it away in the carry case.

No worries chap,  I put the Argtek on my standard and best so far is 850m before the signal was unstable, I was flying towards the downs which I think is higher than 100m from my start position so I could of gone a bit further but was getting nervous as it may of flew into the ground !
