You might put in a choice of 'Don't Care' for those who do not see it as important. Like those of us in the vast majority of the world that use Metric measurements.

Geebax im trying to ask dji to add this option for Imperial users. I wouldn't think that Metric users would want anything displayed in feet or miles.

i dont think they will add that. makes no sense if you think about it , feet and meters is perfect, just calculate it and thats it , people are more familiar with meters and feet, miles is for long distance flights...

picture this in your head you are flying and trying to record a video you need certain height to avoid obstacles and it display 0.043 miles  or something crazy like that and theres a huge building around you can not say oh i can avoid that with your bare eyes.      i dont know if i make the point clear but atleast in my head it makes sense

Please re-read the title. Im not asking for Miles to be added to anything but distance. Everything else should remain in feet.

i guess if the imperial system was as straight forward for converting fractions of length like the metric system it would be much easier to calculate

Metric is fine for me but it does raise the question as to why the speed is displayed as meters per second rather than km/h. We generally use km/h for metric speeds so it's  odd that the DJI Go App displays  drone speed as meters per second. It's not a terminogy that actually means anything to most owners whereas km/h makes perfect sense.

Actually, the problem in the US is not that they did not try.. but they never were able to go "cold turkey" on it... It is easy to just go to metric, the problem begins if you insist on running conversions.. conversions are a mistake.. just forget the imperial and go metric, no issues.. if u keep trying to convert, you will get confused.. but it is hard to escape conversions in a big country like this, because of all the industry and everything else already built in imperial.. even plumbing...  I do not think we gonna manage that change in the US.. we probably just gonna stay weird forever I come from Europe, and metric is so logical - even most Americans admit that the logic in metric is unbeatable... really? I need a 3/8ths of an inch drill bit? What the hell is that?

Probably because the height in meters, so it makes sense to measure vertical speed in m/s,  then to maintain consistency, horizontal speed is also measured in m/s.  Not really sure, just my guess.

"On a scale of 1 to 3, how far did you go?!"

Miles doesn't make sense to me on something that most people typically don't go past 1 of, but 3 is the max.

"I went 1 (using the feet indicator of about 2,500ft, does calculation of the fraction of a mile over, which means the setting didn't save brain use at all) and about a half!!"

I think I see what he's getting at.    On the total miles flown it has a total number of feet.   I've flown over 534,000 ft, which is roughly 101 miles.    That might be interesting to know in miles or km.

I believe he wants to see the live current flight distance in miles instead of feet. Or when you hit 5,280ft it switches to miles.
At least I think that's what he's asking for. I'm fine showing feet. Now if I were flying many miles away I may want miles instead of feet but these aircraft won't go that far plus I have no reason to fly that far.

DJI-Ken this is exactly what i'm asking, after 5,280ft out change distance from feet to miles.

Also please change the RTH altitude and Max flight altitude to feet when choosing Imperial.

Most of the DJI owners at Phantompilots.com and several facebook groups fly several miles away and this feature would be extremely useful to us.

After awhile you adapt to seeing feet without the app converting to miles when you hit 1 mile.
But I wish (when using imperial) they would show maximum height and RTH altitude in feet also. Why convert everything but those fields? DJI should better coordinate their departments.
It would be nice to show miles when appropriate.
