Hello guys..
i'm a total NEWBIE and i bought mavic ( well see you next year LOL )
anyway i've  a question regarding altitude ..

Mavic has a 500 meters limit right?  BUT .. if i go over a hill  which is 350 meters... that means i can still reach  850 meters? OR i can reach a total f 500 meters?
in this example is 350m+150 m = 500 m

OR

350m + 500 m = 850 m?

thanks for your kind answer :-)

I believe it's 500m where you take off from. But it is an interesting question. I know the Mavic has terrain follow, but does it work when you fly over a hill with trees and brush? Or do you have to be going up solid ground like on the Mavic sales video? Going up a set of stairs. Also, how close to the ground do you have to be for terrain follow to work?

It will never pass that 500m limit, no matter if you're going uphill in terrain follow.
Also, that 500m is always relative to your takeoff location. So if you're on top of a 1000m mountain, it can go up to 1500m

That's good to know, I'm planning to travel to South America and fly my drone starting at 3700+ meters. It would be silly if it didn't, so much of the worlds landmass is above 500 meters to start with.
