Great work Dundee. I was bit confused regarding the procedure as I taught we had to use the APP (Tx ON) to update but seems that this version just required to slide in the card  in the Gimbal/Camera and turn ON the Inspire.

Dundee,

I format my new SD cards in the Inspire-1 gimbal by hitting "Format SD Card" under the app "General Settings" menu.

Do you agree with this new card formatting procedure. If not, exactly how do I format it to FAT?

When I download my new zip file it goes to a VLC media file signification. Why? Is this ok?

I really appreciate your help, Dundee.

Just put the SD-Card into your computer (not the Inspire1) and format it.
You have to put it into your computer anyway to copy the firmware onto it.

These are my results after following the flowcharts.

Is this for IOS?
Doesn't look like mine, but I'm on Android 4.2.2

Regardless, my app will not call for an update. It says "Firmware Latest-Normal" on the firmware prior to the new firmware release. Why? I ignored this, and tried to download the new firmware and it would not take ?????

Pretty confused here. "DJI-Help-Line" guy told me if I have Android it updates automatically. Can I believe this?

Pretty sure I can speak for a lot of us that we really appreciate your help and insight.

here's what mine says:

In the APP DJI Pilot (on your device)
1) Click General Settings (Top right)
2) Scroll down to 'About' and select that.

Here's what mine says:

Looks like firmware version numbers can be different between IOS and ANDROID.
When i compare yours with mine, they look ALMOST simular. (but yes, confusing)

Don't be confused anymore.

After updating your SD-Card will contain :

  - The binfile WM610_FW_V01.02.00.17
  - The created file WM_610_FW_RESULT_GS

Open the created file WM_610_FW_RESULT_GS
If you see 'Result: success' then it's updated.
If you see 'Result: cancel'  then it's still OK and updated.
Every time you power up the Inspire1, if will first read the SD-Card.
If the binfile WM610_FW_V01.02.00.17 is there, it will try to update.
If it was not updated, it will for the next 25minutes and then create the WM_610_FW_RESULT_GS
If it was already updated, it will overwrite 'Result: success' with 'Result: cancel'

It will not even try to update if the binfile WM610_FW_V01.02.00.17 is not on the SD-Card

So in short: 'success' or 'cancel' indicates that the craft is updated.

What many members do is, update, then power off.
But if you not look for success on the SD-Card and just power on again, it will be overwritten with 'cancel'
because it was already updated. So this way you never see success, only cancel

Kapido ??

Nope, for the flightlog(s) you need to connect the tail-connector of the Inspire1 to your computer usb-connector
The flightlog(s) are on the internal SD-Card of the Inspire1

Dundee,

When I double click on my bin. file I get the message shown below.
It can be changed from what I can tell (with a drop down of menu of options)

Can you tell me what  I should change this to, so it functions correctly and opens?

This probably why my aircraft won't recognize the file -right?

Dundee,

When I double click on my bin. file I get the message shown below.

You don't have to open the binfile.
If you could, it would be unreadable anyway.
The binfile is there to copy it onto your SD-Card or Memory-Stick
After updating you open the WM610_FW_RESULT_GS textfile to check the result

Rich,
I believe Dundee is "THE MAN"!

He should probably be writing DJI Inspire-1 Firmware Manual Instructions.

I'm following his instructions and it seems to be working. I'll  be able to tell you in an hour.

I vote for Dundee to be Inspire-1 Firmware Advisor. He's been pretty darn generous to a lot of us with his time and quality advice. DJI should take note and send him a nice fat check.

(I wonder where he's from - Australia maybe?)

Believe me, i put some time in this problem.
Let us first see how many members will post here "The rule of Dundee: Result: success"
This works Rich, although i think DJI should make this more user friendly.
