Have a phantom 3 standard and have failed many times to upload the recent firmware to the drone. I have ensured there is no data on the sd  card and on the tell phone.
When I start the drone upi get the message  no image  transmission

First:what phone is in use? Do you have any log file on your SD card ? Do you have home WIFI ?

Thank you for responding  using iPhone 6 and erased all files on ad card. And used home wifi

First try reconnect remote and bird. If that don't work, put latest firmware on sd card (fomat SD), and wait til solid green is on gimbal.

Can't get my firmware update either. Transfer bin. File to micro sd, put in bird, the bird does start up dance then deadly silence, no bleeps green light on gimbal on permantly, red lights on front on rear yellow flashing.  Tried on three occasions today left it in the above state for 30 min 50 min and 25 mins. Took micro sd out and bin file is there but no txt file . Fed up any advice

Its time for dji to step in. Send it back to seller or service.

I have the same problem I can not update my phantom 3 standard, this is the result

When exactly did you that upgrade? I see the date of the 1st January 2014

Could you clarify what color the LED is on the camera?

Yeah I'm having the same problem, I've even tried doing a force update by holding the link button down and after a few minutes it still fails

Having plenty of data on my phone..I just got the new update... connected my phone to phantom wifi with remote on... and my drone on... hit the update button... (said it could take up to 30 min).. my drone made noises the whole time...  completed ..turned off then back on.. went and flew around

I had more trouble posting this than updating... hehehe... with data on phone... i turned on remote.. connected to phantom on wifi.. turned drone on without blades... seen update was ready to start.. hit update.. drone made noises whole time it was updating.. when complete.. turned off then back on... went and flew

I can use my samsung or the iphone.. on the dji go app

Just a throw away trac phone... i myself am new to this awesome drone world

Today i´ll have a look to the new FW and i´ll write down each step i do for upgrade and post that here if anybody needs. ....and make for sure you have a cooling device for the copter during upgrade.
