How high do you have to be in using Active Track and Terrain Follow? Is there a way to automatically rotate the drone in very large circles from a high altitude?
Active track works with image recognition technology, so it has to be close enough to distinguish the tracked object from its surroundings -- the exact height is going to vary based on what you are tracking and it's environment. In general, the answer is: not very high.
Here's a test video I made that shows about as far up you can go when tracking an adult male on a simple background:
You can use POI to orbit a selected point of interest at decent altitudes, though that's only good for static subjects.
