Hi,

After updating to most recent firmware I have MANY issues.
The update via DJI Assistant 2 on my PC would stop at 47% and go no further.
I was able to update via my phone but no have several issues
1) Indicates "NO SD card" when the same one I've always had is present
2) On startup, controller indicates "gimbal shake error" but camera is steady
3) Shortly after startup, the controller indicates "No Signal"
4) Battery status is unavailable
5) Aircraft status "Abnormal" errors have continued through multiple reboots.
  a) Aircraft Encoder Error (0x2800020)
  b) Gimbal Joint Angle Sensor Initialization Error

I also had a gimbal error inidcation but the auto calibration resolved it

Thanks in advance,

-Lee

Lee, could you please post some picture of this issue for better assistance? Besides, what aircraft are you using? Can you re-upgrade the firmware via DJI Assistant 2?

Hi Diana,
Phantom 4 Advanced.
I tried re-installing from DJI Assistant 2.  Upload failed again.
Tried doing a factory reset then re-installing.  This upload failed too.
DJI Assistant says firmware is "current" at V01.02.0602
The indicator LED by the USB port on the drone is flashing 2 red, 2 green <repeat>

I have several pictures showing the upload process, the failures, and screenshots from my phone showing the error messages I mentioned in the OP.
How do I add a picture?   The "Picture" icon in the forum post just asks for an address.  Is that a URL?  Do I need to create a Dropbox account?

I created a Dropbox account and shared links in the previous reply.  I guess that's not how it's done.

"DJI Assistant says firmware is "current" at V01.02.0602"

Now that's interesting as that is the P4 firmware, the P4A should be at V 01.00.0128 according to the P4A release notes Here.

You are using DJI Assistant 2 v1.1.2-2 ? (this was released 9 days ago).

Yup.  V1.1.2.2
I downloaded it Sunday from that page onto an entirely different computer.
One that had never had DJI installed on it to ensure there was nothing funky with USB drivers.

Yep - wondered that myself (I'd just posted the P4 version number in another post immediately prior).

Sounds like Assistant 2 hasn't picked up that it's a P4A and allowed firmware for the P4 to be applied. I wouldn't have thought that possible, but... that could explain all of the errors.

I'd suggest running Assistant 2 on the PC, connect the P4A and Then power it on. Assistant 2 will wait for you to plug it in, and when it detects that it'll show which craft it is for you to select it on the screen. Of course, if it doesn't realise it's connected...

I mis-spoke, I have the P4, not the P4 advanced.

I mis-spoke, I have the P4, not the P4 advanced.

The first thing I would try here is a new micro SD card formatted in the aircraft (The one you've always used could've gone faulty). As an example I use the Sandisk Ultra series which I find to be good enough for 4k on the P4.

I believe that the SD card is used during update process as a temporary storage device (no great surprises there ). So if it were faulty would affect updates, refreshes and resets etc.

Then try a refresh of firmware using DJI Assistant 2.

No Joy.

SOOOOOO frustrating.  Was working just fine until the update.  Tomorrow is the balloon festival and I'm gonna miss it.

I've tried 4 different SD cards.

The Phone app:
1) there's no SD card inserted.
2) has no information on any of the batteries I use.
3) says there's high interference even when I'm in the middle of a hay field.
4) loses and regains signal even though I'm right next to the drone ... in the middle of a hay field.
5) indicates Aircraft status "Abnormal" errors even though multiple reboots.
  a) Aircraft Encoder Error (0x2800020)
  b) Gimbal Joint Angle Sensor Initialization Error

I've done IMU and compass re-calibration, and re-linked the drone to the controller.

Through Assistant 2 I've tried resetting to factory (works) then re-uploading the current firmware.  Fails every time no matter how many different SD cards I use.

Please give me a feedback if you have any solution how to fix it. I have the same problem like you have.
