Wow, so often we read about drones taking a dip in the deep dark drink.
Perhaps it's time we look into this phenomenon more closely...

There are several drones built specifically for diving,

Yes, dove in deep on these swimmers... Ha

It's remarkable that DJI hasn't battened down the hatches and sealed all port holes...  ;-)

Perhaps in the future, they will figure out the benefits of a drone that can swim or at least stay afloat.

If they don't jump on it it is going to be too late for them.!

Yes, many here and abroad, would benefit from a drone that don't sink.

So much joy can be had, while flying our hobby drones above large bodies of open water.
A safe drone that can stay afloat would be awesome, especially if you are a great swimmer.  Chuckles

We might wish to float this thought through the sifting screen at DJI HQ!!
Imagine the time saved and space in the repair centers, when the drowned drones disappear? Haha

I feel fortunate to only have had problematic times within the forum. Chuckles
Thankfully and mucho gracias that my bird only needed new props when it hits the brick wall, at full throttle.  Crack!!

Yes, we have struck trees too. Hahaha

But it was hardwood, so no softwood here. Chuckles.

I wonder about the range though. RF doesn't penetrate water very well.

I have not looked into details and the stas.

It must be a bummer if the battery dies prematurely. ;-)

My wife was looking at one online that had a tether to a floating receiver.
I think the tether was about 50' long.
We were wondering what happens when you get the tether wrapped around a rock or some coral.
No thanks. I'll stick to trees jumping into my flight path.

Coral? Haha, I live in Alberta Canada!!

Yes, use the onboard camera, to guide your travels, down in the depths.

What about octopus? Chuckles
