Amazingly silky smooth - how do get it so nice what setting etc did you export.....sat here viewing on my 5k iMac screen its amazing.
Hi Aerail-Image,
Thank you for the response.
It was shot 2.7k 24fps with Polar Pro (Polarized) filters to get the shutter down below 100 (to reduce the stutter caused by the low FPS). In post ill use noise reduction to get rid of the horrible mosquito noise that dances around in mid highlights (makes the image calm). When rendered out I bring it up to 4k and downscale it back down to 2.7k with the use of interpolation between pixels (This will software-increase the IQ and make the picture more comprehensive in detail and colour). Everything is processed in 32-bit floating point but rendered out to 8bit eventually (this will reduce some of the colour-banding when heavily graded.). That’s about it.
This is normal referred to as cropping or blanking. I am using a traditional (cinema) 2:35.1 crop. In final cut X you cand do this with a tool called “letterbox”. Search for that tool.
This video explain how it’s done in final cut X:
A side note. Some confuse this with pixel ratio. If you shot with anamorphic lenses than its necessary to squeeze the pixels from its normal squared shape to make the image look natural. If you do that with the mavic footage, the whole picture will look out of proportion. Can be quite confusing and easy to do wrong in post.
Tip: Keep standard ratio for you files when output. Mine is standard HD 1920x1080 ratio or higher. Try avoid output with strange resolution like 1920x810 etc. The former will make it much simpler for all devices (Tv/PAD’s/phones and so on).

Nice Job, you either live in some beautiful countryside or do a lot of traveling.
Did you use any ND/CPL filters when you were filming into direct sunlight?

Hi quadkid,
Yes, I used Polarpro NDPL on all direct sunlight shots.
Most of these shots were taken in my neighbourhood (0.1-3 hours driving) beside a couple from shanghai and Island.
