Not possible. Different technology behind the remotes.

Money grubbers. There is no reason they couldn't have made the spark compatible with the mavic remote. I know a couple people that would have purchased a spark if they could have used their existing remote. Why? Because how fun it is to race them in sport mode. It's speed and size make it fun. They should rectify this and make a standard remote technology you can use with any of their new drones.

Both Occusync and Spark transmit at either 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency. DJI have to use these two frequencies. The Occusync and lightbridge are just DJI's "Special Sauces" on the side band.

"They don't have to"...that's like saying, "My $10,000 Toyota Prius has a 4 cylinder engine and the $35,000 Dodge Challenger has a Hemi, but they don't have to."
You get what you pay for.

I don't know, you can get a mavic for $1000, i imagine by christmas you can probably get the combo for less then $1000. If you think the ability to use occusync is worth the extra $500 I have to disagree. I still love the spark. I'll end up buying the Mavic 2, nut I still am of the mind that they should make all controllers/drones interchangeable.

Use Occusync, not connection issues like what the Sparks are having with WIFI and the ability to fly 4 miles.  Is it worth $500? No, but the Spark is marketed as a "story telling"/entry level platform.  I can't use my Phantom controller with my Mavic either.

AFAIK, the Mavic has a switch to set it to Wifi only.

Two questions then ...

1. Can the Mavic, in Wifi mode, be flewn with the Spark RC?

2. Does the Mavic RC has a similiar switch to controll wifo only, or could a FW upgrade add this ability in the Go app?

Answers:
1)The Mavic can fly in WIFI mode, but not with the Spark RC
2) The MavicRC does NOT have a switch, the switch is on the AC (Mavic)
