Inside the twist-lock clamps on the booms is a little O-ring that I would imagine wicks water away from getting inside the boom. These O-rings arrive fairly dry, and on a few of the M200's we recieved, the O-rings pull out from inside their ridge inside the clamps. On one copter, this O-ring split moments after removing it from the box. Replacing this O-ring isn't easy, and finding a replacement isn't easier either since it's a square shape ring.

So, to prevent this from happening, apply a little oil to the boom like WD-40, or graphite if you're in a dusty environment so that the clamps slide freely.

I would suggest a silicone grease as used by watchmakers for gaskets and o-rings ....light application only.

Good idea, something that won't attract a bunch of dust, but still keeps the ring from binding.
