My first device was a Samsung Tab A6 - was the only option for sale from my drone agent and since i have no previous smart phone experiance at all i decided it was a good starting point for me.
I recently got a sony z3 (for a good price as replacement for my lost work phone) and since i can decided to load the dji go4 app on and test it out - for my application it is head and shoulders better than my samsung.
Now i am wondering what might be the best devise and have thought to ask users of the forum.
If you care to please name yr device and give it yr personal rating out of 10 and mention for best and worst aspects of the device - thanks

iPad Mini 4 is a 10.  NEVER had any issues and I use it on all my DJI devices.  Android is just too unstable with DJI Go

Yes I agree with @Tviscomi ! Ipad mini 4 or Ipad Pro 9.7 or the new 10.5" if you plan to edit your video on the iPad Pro and it has a bigger storage! FYI.

Nexus7 only because it was free...
Work good No issues I can't over come
I have learned to use it with Mavic.!
There is several way to set up I've learned a way that works Most of the time
Start Nexus 7 (Unplugged from controller)
Start up Mavic
Start Controller
"Go Fly" signal
Plug in Nexus 7
From Nexus 7 Desktop screen Open Go4 App
wait for "Go fly" signal check Camera Feed and Mavic Orientation
move on to setting
If all else fails Shut it down restart as Describe

There is always the Crystal Sky monitor to check out. It is dedicated to drone products but you would get an amazing picture out of it.

Nope it won't fit. IPAD Mini 4 is the most you squeeze in!

I am waiting on the UltraBright Crystal Sky. If you want to upgrade your rather wait for it! I have the P4P+ and the screen is amazing for outside but too small!

No. The iPad 10.5 will not fit directly to the controller. But you can buy an attachment

I am surprise that android device reported to have many bugs when crytalsky is running on android.

For those using the iPad mini 4, what lighting cable are you using to connect the iPad and RC? Can you please provide a link to where you got it?

I like these cords (no disconnections on my iPad mini 4).
They are 8" and come pack of 3 for $10.99.
Both sides (lightning & USB) are right angle ends.

Thanks...I have a mini4 and was going to use my BestBuy points to move up to the latest iPad, but don't want to use any attachments.  I hate carrying extra crap around with me.

Samsung Galaxy S2 rates a 10.  Slimmer, lighter, brighter, less expensive and more versatile than the ipad.  The T710 model fits the controller perfectly and is stable with the GO4 app and current firmware.

Thanks Mavicator - i been using a galaxy Tab a6 which is mostly pretty good - except i have been making skypixel videos and for this i have to record to my devise (from where i edit)
But because the devise only has 8 gig and about 6 used on bloatware means i have to keep the devise free of anything extra and then at best i can get a few minutes footage to convert to video :-(
So for my personal way i use the devise it is less than i would prefer - hense this enquiry to the forum

yes - but i hear that the devise is too fat to fit into the mavic holder - pity about that or i might have considered it.

spent my life till now quite comfortable about being an iphobe (apple phobia) - now i am less happy about it cause it seems their specs and usability really seems to stand out for droning

I got an iPad mini 4 after the constant crashes using my pixel xl phone. Got a 0.2m cable right angled from Amazon which is perfect.

Using the PGY Tech holder, turned upside down so the Pro is mounted lower down. I like the much larger viewing area. If you're going from the Mini 4 to the Pro 10.5, you'd really notice the speed difference.

Why the worries if it fits in the remote? If it doesn't fit, only thing you need to do is to buy and use a longer connection cable. Just put the tablet on the table or in a holder/stand then. Possibilities enough!

this is the one I got from Amazon (actually ordered 2 as a spare.. and absolutely perfect.. Dont even need to take it out when putting the controller in the bag

Speak for yourself, DJI GO 4 works very well on my Android Samsung Galaxy S8.
