How to change a P3S motor's rotation in the firmware / software?

Made a mistake; I switched the new motor leads and don't won't to take it apart to correct. Still kicking myself for not checking rotation before putting P3s back together.


Replaced both of the clockwise motors on my Phantom 3 standard.

Right rear motor is rotating CCW I don't won't to take it apart to correct the motor

leads.



PS all other motors are spinning in the correct direction only 1 of
     the CW motors replaced is spinning in the wrong direction.

You're gonna have to take it back apart

--firmware only-- not though software application or settings.

I know that within the DIY community in some RC vehicles motor rotation can be changed.

Of course the DIY RC community is using open source firmware, so even
if it could be done DJI would understandbly not provide infor on how to do it.

It does not matter whether it is software or firmware, it cannot be done. Your only option is to correct the wiring mistake.

We do not suggest that users DIY or refit the drone for the safety of the flight.
We recommend sending the drone back and we'll help to fix this.

Thank you for your response.
I infer from your response "We recommend sending the drone back and we'll help to fix this." that you work for DJI.
I personally want to thank you and all of DJI for producing this product and congratulate you on your continued advancement of the Phantom product line.

I want to make sure we have a complete understanding.
In my case having 1 motor rotating in the wrong direction makes the drone incapable of flight.
1. Upon  motor start up the prop spins off.
2. If the prop were secured so as to not spin off the drone would still be incapable of flight.

I purchased new motors DJI motors for my Phantom 3 standard and replaced the 2 clockwise motors.
The right rear motor should rotate clock wise; after reassembly I found that the right rear motor rotates counter clock wise.
I assume that I soldered the motor leads to the wrong pads in spite of  being clearly marked.
I had hoped for a quick fix and wondered if it were possible to change motor rotation through the firmware.
I will disassemble and correct my error.

Every Brushless motor flyer of whatever model checks his rotation before closing up !! Or should we say - they should !!

The old saying is "Any two wires of the three swapped" .............................  

PITA I know - but no choice !

Yes, I understand your situation. But I am afraid that I have to tell you there is no firmware can solve this problem.
So I would rather suggest that you send the drone in if you need.

Perhaps you got the wrong direction motor in the first place and installed correctly? Either way you'll need to perform surgery once more. Practice hopefully makes perfect!
