You can download offline maps in the GO app. Not sure if that is what you are thinking about.

How are you able to do this? My CrystalSky only lets me download Chinese maps, but I am located in the SF Bay Area. Mine just came a day ago.

You need to do a factory reset of the CrystalSky.
Seemes that most people need to do this to be able to download maps outside of China.
