I tried to switch the sport mode button in sport mode on the remote controller but it did nothing. I was stuck at 10 kph... then I realized that I needed to manually switch off the obstacle avoidance mode....then I was stuck at about 21 kph.....does anyone knows how to switch the SPARK in full sport mode, ie, 30 kph ?

Make sure beginner mode is off...

Indeed, when first passing max beginner mode, tick the box to accept switching off. Or go in flight settings and switch of..

Thanks guys....the beginner mode was already off.....so I'm wondering if people just toggle the sport switch to sport mode and all the settings switch by thelselves to sport or is there any other steps I m suppose to do other than switching the obstacle avoidance to off .....

All I had to do was turn on Sport Mode on the RC.

It should do it auto when you change the switch. Defo have to make sure beginner mode is turned off in the settings though. Beware - sensors are all off in Sport Mode apart from the GPS. Had a blast the other evening on the local pitch with 3 batteries worth of low level fun.

I had a very similar issue the first time I tried using the remote with my Spark.

I connected and went flicked the switch to sport mode, but no real increase in speed, so i went in and turned the avoidance sensors off (this realy should have been a clue something was not working as sport mode turns these off anyway) and was again only getting 20km/h. turned sport mode off and back on though and everything came good.

All flights since then have worked as expected.

My wife just bought me a Spark for Xmas.  This is my first drone.  She didn’t get the controller but I think I finally get a hang off flying via my iPhone.  It might be a dumb question, how do I turn on sports mode?  I turned off the beginner mode but sports mode is nowhere to be found on my phone control menu.  Please advise.  Thanks!

Send your wife to pick up the forgoten controller!
For max 100m distance (phone only), there is no sport mode available!

i had similar experience that sports mode does not kick off with a faster speed...what i did is again in mid flight switch it back to normal mode and then again switch to sports mode...the drone zooms with very high forward speed...but ensure that you are hovering while doing the switch

I have exactly the same problem I can not use sports mode, the same message pops up all the time as you

Just switch the physical button on the RC to sport but before you do that, make sure to enable the intelligent flight modes. and ensure you dont have 0% battery cough cough

Anyone used a cable connection to the RC, before?
Anyway, you need to get a cable connection from the phone to the RC, to enable the Sport switch in the general settings of the DJI GO 4 fly window.
This green "EMFM" switch is off, assumingly, in your settings
And ignore the rest, we have no PAF switch. But it  is deactivating our P-Sport switch

If you are using a RC, then lift off in normal Mode, (select Take Off from the screen) hover at about 2mtrs, check all systems are good, i.e. enough satellites, GPS enabled, RTH activated, then select Sports Mode and enjoy the experience..
