I am wanting to know how to clean the 2  copper connectors in the battery bay. This is where the battery inserts  into. I've had this Inspire 1 since last year and I noticed what I think  is oxidation on the 2 copper connection pieces. Been flying this way  for a year now, no issues at all. Other than a battery damage error with  1 of my batteries because cell 1 is showing weakness and it says in the  DJI Go app that cell 1 is broken. Other than that, no problems. You can  see the worn area on the 2 copper connectors where the battery has been  inserted in many times. I hope there is a way to clean it. If not, I'll  leave it as is and keep flying.

Thanks in advance.

Not to bad but you can clean these off using DeoxITLiquid contact cleaner / enhancer. This works great for the battery, USB  and camera connectors. See the link below
Improves Conductivity
• Deoxidizes, Cleans & Preserves
• Reduces Intermittent Connections, Arcing & RFI
• Temperature Range, -34oC to 200oC

I tried white vineger just now, because that's all I got at the moment. I'm very pleased with the results to be honest! All I did was rub the white vineger on the contacts for 1-2 minutes. Then I whipped dry. After that, I used the isopropyl alcohol to clean it completely. I'm amazed by how well the vinegar performed . Now my room smells like vinegar lol. 20248508_10155093123719055_5256492780548900140_o.jpg

White vinegar is a great cleaning agent. But  you have stripped all of the protection from the metal surface.  I would recommend you get some silicone grease (super light coat)  or the DeOxit on those contacts for best results. Dielectric grease will protect the contacts from degrading and give you better connection

I'll purchase DeoxITLiquid and use it on the contacts. This will protect it?

I'll buy it from this eBay seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DeoxITLiquid-squeeze-tube-100-solution-2-mL-/181600485480?hash=item2a483b8068

I'll buy and use this before corrosion starts up again :S

Should be here by Aug 3-14. Once it arrives, I'll apply it to the contacts and clean a bit more of the contacts. Does this product protect the contacts real well?

Yes, it works very nicely and it protects the contacts also improves the electrical properties. . I use it on the device USB connection and the camera contacts too.

Apply de-oxit regularly and you will keep moisture, corrosion and resistance away.
Good preventive maintenance.

I bought the Smart Powercharge (black) version last week brand new. Noticed today some corrosion or some sort of build up on all gold connectors. It's the connectors that the battery sits in to charge/discharge. Looks like I'll be applying the DeoxITLiquid once it arrives hopefully this week lol.

Yup this will work for many electronic devices. I use it on the USB connectors and the camera contacts too.

I use this for my computer builds and other Audio electronics more spendy than your average guy is willing to pay. But this is the Gold Standard in contact enhancer
"enhancing conductivity without causing electrical leakage between adjacent contacts"   ""It's non-conductive until subjected to the high-potential electric field that develops in the microscopic gap between the card contact and the socket contact, so there's no danger of any leakage or shorts.""

After a few months of using Deoxit, I'm very pleased. One question though... Is it ever going to be possible to make those 2 hold contacts completely shinny and clean? Or no product can do this? I hear light sanding would, but I don't want to risk it. If I can't get the 2 gold contacts any cleaner than how I have it... That's fine. I just took these pictures one with no flash and the other with flash. The flash photo shows it's not completely clean. Deoxit is great stuff

The gold plating on those contacts is super thin, any sanding or abrasive agent will remove it very quickly which is not what you are after. The cleaning agents you are using and keeping up on the routine maintenance you are currently performing is still your best option. Those contacts look good.

Can't remember where I saw someone suggesting sanding... Maybe a Inspire Facebook group. I figured it was to good to be true lol. Once a month I clean those 2 gold contacts with Deoxit. Gonna have to order some more soon, almost finish the tiny tube

I've used those fiberglass scratch brushes on gold contacts as well as normal battery contacts.  Fiberglass scratch brush
