probably an overkill because you will only be able to go far out and come back right away, you wouldn't have time to take beautiful shots because of the battery life. for me its useless to fly that far. i rarely go further than 300 meters out.

Yeah but if you're going out for distance you're not taking shots

These kits do not serve much to go far.

But to have a solid solid solid signal near 300mt so we use 5.8ghz instead of 2.4ghz to have a return video as clean as possible.

There are videos on YouTube where the DJI Spark arrived at 3 miles.

forgive me if i seem ignorant but why would you just want to "go out for distance" without taking shots? besides for product reviewing of course. i just don't know what purpose that would serve?

Following, but like others said a bit overkill.   A permanent antenna for a temporary flight.  

These antennas are dangerous for the RC? Can some components break? In Europe we already have less power ... in theory nothing should happen to the RC.

i like flying long range for those just endless straightline shots, its awesome to fly far and have it recorded i dont see why not. plus in CE regions you will be able to get a lot more from your spark

I could see this mod being of use if it makes the signal within the spark's flight time bulletproof but to make these mods with max range as a goal seems pointless. Further, pushing the drone to the very limits in range for the sake of range alone simply means that sooner or later you're going to lose the drone or set up circumstances where the drone might cause inadvertent harm as the battery dies too far out to return to home. Additionally, for me the spark's biggest selling point is it's size and portability. The modded antenna looks very cumbersome and will only add to setup time or ease of transport. I understand to each his own but really don't see the attraction of this mod.

I think range will be good but if your flying in sport mode how far can you go on approx 11/12 minutes battery that will be the real test,

30mph = 2 minutes per mile.. and ~12 minutes of 30MPH....so lets say non stop off edge of a mountain over a valley and one way trip only to another cliff exact same altitude so no wasted energy flying up or down, just going for it, no wind to fight.   that is 6 miles of theoretical 1 way range on a single pack @ 12 minutes/30MPH


having access to a signal that could cover 6 miles easily would likely promote more lost sparks, i think it is important to have a solid connection much further out so some of us "exploring types" can utilize 1-2 miles of range better...



has anyone run there battery from full to flat non stop 30mph?  if so it would be interesting to see run times..  in sport mode (standard non modded) i get about 12 minutes of usage but i hardly push my spark 30mph all the time.. usually only on way out and way back, much of its run time is me exploring things slowly.  in non sport mode im getting uparound 14 minutes, but it varies between 12 and 14, because more travel time...
