I currently carry everything I need for my Mavic in the official Mavic bag, but I am outgrowing it slowly.
Can you tell me what would be the next best thing as an upgrade to the DJI Mavic bag with regards to space, convenience and portability.
I don't want a pelican style case either.
Please share your images of the bag you use and your reasons why.

Here's a list of all the things I want to store in it.

* Mavic
* Controller
* Ipad mini 4
*Samsung Note 4 (spare)
*2 spare Mavic batteries
*Anonometer (small)
*Polarpro filters (ND8,ND16,ND32)
*Spare props
*cables USB-lightning
PYtech Ipad mini holder

Car charger
Mains charger
Small tripod
small selfie stick
Samsung 360 camera
(And a partridge in a pair tree)
Spare sd cards

* = Already in the bag

I quite like this one from PCWorld @ a reasonable price of £59.99 with rain cover just incase.

I went for the alternative route of snug cases for the Mavic and the remote and then can chuck them in my favourite back pack
This was the ideal solution for me as I found the FlyMore bag just too cramped and squashed when tryign to get it out and fit back in each time.... too easy to snag the props or joy sticks....

I see what you mean with the snug cases. Great idea but I don't think it's the sort of thing for me.
I want a complete organiser type bag/backpack with a place for everything and everything in its place.

Hi Ian

When I clicked on the link you sent, an advert popped up for Amazon with the sort of thing I really think is great. A little on the pricey side but you'll get the ideahttps://images-na.ssl-images-ama ... _CB294781349__SR300,300_.jpg[img]

Hi Maveriksam,

We offer a backpack called the Drone Trekker that should have more than enough room to accommodate all of those items.  It has internal dividers to help with organization (these can be removed and reconfigured to your needs) as well as a rain cover, is small enough to be brought as a carry-on onto a plane, and includes a hybrid TSA/combination lock to help keep all the items secure.  I use one when I transport my own Mavic and other gear, including my filters, a DSLR and some GoPro accessories.  It can be found here:

https://www.polarprofilters.com/ ... oducts/dronetrekker

It's a little higher of a price point than the other bag you mentioned in your post, but it sounds like it would meet all your needs very well.

Actually thats not a bad looking bag at all.
I will defiantly consider it when making my final decision.

Now we're talking.
Just last night I checked some of these backpacks on the lower site.
There is one of there bags that takes smaller bags inside.
I think I've found the one.

Hi Brum Ken
Before the Mavic, I had/still have the original Phantom 1 and I purchased a hard case for that. It was so cumbersome to carry around I think I only took it out a hand full of times.
Shame really.
I really don't want to go back to that scenario and not want to take my MP out where ever I go.
I even take it to work everyday in the hope of some nice weather on the way home.
I've just come back from a holiday in Cyprus and took it with me in my rucksack in the DJI bag. I can't imagine the hassle I may of had if I'd of had a hard case.

Thanks, that's pretty cool.  It tweaks my OCD containerization fetish nicely.  Having the separate container/compartment for the core mavic components is neat.

I use this:

https://www.amazon.com/LowePro-L ... Backpack+for+Camera

Its cheap and I can fit in: mavic, controller, three batteries, charger, car charger, a car converter (for plugging in the normal charger so I can charge two at once on the go), large phone for the controller, sun glasses, hat, spare memory cards, spare props, spare cables, a pair of warm gloves, and still room for another few random items.

Hi Brokenphones

I took a trip into my local PCworld on Saturday to have a look at a few more bags and they had this exact model of Lower in. I asked the guy if a 13inch MacBook would fit in. It did.
I think I'm going to get one.

Nice bag (op) - have the GPS which works for what I need it for but that backpack style is really something I could use too. Just recently purchased the DJI one but then again I don't  plan to carry all the stuff you'd pointed out.  That PCword one is awesome !

To be honest I didn't plan on carrying that much gear but you find you need more and more kit.
I want to keep everything I need for the MP in one place aswell. I seem to have stuff all over the house in different places and the wife is always moving it.

My original Mavic bag has never been used because it was designed poorly. Besides that, I don't want anything (DJI labels) that says, "Hey potential thief, I have a $1000.+ camera and goodies inside". Same with Lowepro bags that also say the same thing, expensive camera equipment inside. So I just use a simple small pack, bought mine for $60. and use those cases like Wellsi. I have 2 extra batteries at the bottom, drone, then controller on top inside the laptop compartment. It's a perfect fit. I have a piece of yoga mat for extra protection and/or something to put the equipment on when I'm setting up or for a takeoff/landing pad.

My feelings about design of the DJI bag, ideal for the basics. It's very well made and offers enough protection for the few items you really need to fly.
(reminder to myself) take video of my items and how I fit them into the bag.
Although I understand your concerns about advertising your wears, I personally don't leave my equipment anywhere where I can't see it. Even when I'm flying, the DJI bag I use is hung around me like a man bag.
Please see the OP for the items I carry at the moment. You will see why I need a larger but organised case/bag.

Pretty disappointed with the DJI bag. Very difficult to get the Mavic out for a start and th rusty zip looks poor. I now use a slim case for my Goggles, hard zipped case for the Mavic and controller, several Lipo cases and then stick all this lot with the spare props, lenses etc in a big Nike ruck sack.

That was my 3rd gripe about the Mavic bag, the way it carries. That's why I prefer the light, small backpack, because I also wear it while flying, usually.  If I needed to carry as much as you listed, I'd still be able to put it all in there. In front of the laptop compartment is a lot of room for extras. In the small pouch in front I have a 10,000mAh portable charger, filters, etc, small stuff.
As for the labels and security, it really depends on location and generally the places I fly are not a lot of people anyway but sometimes there are tourists and we all know thieves prey on tourists. Even while wearing the items on them!

I've considered all my options and am now in a good position to order.

I have ordered the Lowepro Tahoe BP150 https://www.lowepro.co.uk/brands ... tahoe-bp-150/pd349/

I have also ordered these two. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portab ... PSG1cEOB_9udJZ9rviA

I think this whole solution will give me both room for my kit and offer good protection.

Thank you all for helping me decide.

I will get a video together of all the kit I fit inside both Mavic bag and the Lowepro.

Yep; of course depends on what you want; I wanted the mavic to fit inside a small hiking back that's carrying other stuff too, not have a bag that carries every accessory each time I go out but doesn't allow for other day hiking stuff.
The other bag you list and the polar pro bag look pretty smart.

Cheers

Hi

I know I said I would do a video, but I'm not great at doing this sort of thing.
I've taken a picture instead.
This is everything I carry in the MP bag at the moment and to be honest there is still room for a little more but not everything I want to carry.
As I've said in a previous post, when I get the new bag I will show you everything I fit in that.

Lowepro arrived today. Still waiting for the pouch/bags to arrive before I organise the Lowepro.
Had a quick look and it does seem very well made with plenty of padding for protection.
I think I made the right choice.

Can't seem to get my head around all the haters of the DJI bag though. I think it's been a good carrier and protector of my MP so far. Lots of pockets for my bits. See pic above for what I could fit in it.
Maybe it was the price tag? It is a well made bag, mine hasn't bust at the seems or anything.

I use the Lowepro Hatchback 22L for my Mavic & misc other stuff - lots of room, super comfortable, and protects everything quite well. Travelled both domestically & internationally with this pack as carry-on with no issues. I like that it looks pretty much like any other pack and doesn't scream "hey look! I've got expensive gear inside!" ... unless you get the pepper red color. ;)

I hope I didn't miss this already being addressed  in this thread but does anybody know if the DJI Goggles will fit securely in the top portion of the ViewPoint BP 250 AW? I have had great success with Lowepro products in the past with DSLRs and would like to be able to  carry my MP rig and the goggles in one pack.
