My Spark still does not recognize gesture controls when I do them. However my lighter complexioned friends seem to have an easier time getting Spark to listen.

i would recommend a lighter shirt but my complexion is light and the spark looses me all the time. i believe they need to work on this feature more.

its using contrast detection based system instead of a phase detection based system.. contrast detections requires..well, higher contrast than the surroundings..   

phase detection is harder to trick since its better at metering the entire scene with multiple points and does it faster...but leave it to DJi to not use it... *rolls eyes*

the sensor they used is capable of hybrid phase + contrast detection... and phase detection is vastly superior and would vastly improve image quality in auto mode because it would be able to properly meter multiple points very very fast.   however it appears DJi stuck with Contrast detection, probably because it is easier to program and they want to create some artificial reasoning to get a "pro" level drone...

the issue doesn' appear to be my gestures, but the sparks ability to recognize me making them.
