Hi team!

When using the DJI soft bag designed for the Mavic Pro do you pack your Mavic with the props installed on the drone or do you remove the props before packing?

Regards
Georg

They seem a bit fragile to me. I'm thinking they or the rotor shafts can get damaged when squeezed into the bag. No?

Been squeezing mine into the bag since Nov 16, never had a problem.
You do have to be a little careful, no ramming it in......er......lol

This is what fits into my old Cannon Camera Shoulder Bag
It is 9" Long, 6.5" Tall & 6" Deep

1 Mavic Pro with Dome & Props attached
1 Crystal Sky 5.5" Monitor
1 Mavic Crystal Sky Mount ( 2 pieces )
1 Crystal Sky Battery
3 Mavic Batteries
1 Mavic Controller
1 set ND Filters ( 3 pieces )
1 Type "C" USB cable 3' long
1 small Phillips screwdriver 2" long ( for mounting Crystal Sky )
It all fits nicely

My view is to keep them fitted. The wear and tear from removing and refitting them, outweighs the risk of damaging the prop when putting in into your case. A damaged prop will cost about £4 to replace. It will cost a lot more to replace a worn out / damaged motor  fitting.

I've got no evidence to back this up either way.

Those props are pretty tough.

Never take them. Whole idea of the Mavic is quick and easy flights. Left on with DJI bag although I now use a clamshell case as it’s so much easier to get the Mavic out.

Believe me, whilst the motor shafts or the motors themselves, while they may be delicate to a point, but there's nothing that packing them in that bag will do to them, not even close.

Yep, very quick and easy to do.  Just press, turn, release.

I have two ways to carry my Mavic:

- In the little camera-case-looking bag from DJI that came with the "Fly More Combo".
- In a DroneGuard 250 backpack from Lowepro.

...Usually, for casual toss-it-in-the-car-and-go use, I keep it in the backpack, because it's big and comfy and keeps all of my accessories nicely organized and protected.  In that case, I leave the propellers on, because there's no reason to take them off:  the Mavic fits in the designated compartment just fine with props on, and it's in a hard case that protects it from getting squashed, and it's more convenient that way.

However, if I need to travel light-- for example, if I'm going on a hike, and I need to stuff my Mavic into a hiking backpack, and most of the pack is occupied with hiking-related gear and the drone needs to not occupy much space-- then I use the "Fly More Combo" bag, which basically just holds the drone + controller + batteries and nothing else.  When I carry it in that bag, I do take the props off, mainly because I find it to be a really tight squeeze getting the Mavic into that bag, and I just can't do it with the props on.  So I take them off and keep them in the side pocket of the case.

Thanks for all the comments so far. I agree with Twirlip that it's too tight to get the Mavic inside the "DJI Fly more combo"-bag with the props on.
Maybe it's just a question of wearning the bag down a bit to get it more flexible?

Then another is strange when I take my props of every time DJI requests an update. Likewise, they are regularly removed for inspection for damage.

You only have to be gentle to push it into the bag.

On a plane i wanna travel as light as possible.
So i throw every weight ii can spare in my suitcase (nd filters, props, charger, etc)
Only the batteries and mavic go into the hand luggage.

I'm with you, props seem frail. I tried a card(birthday card) first without props, but the motor shafts caught under the cardboard. I then tried the sleeve for my mini tripod. It was a stretch fit and took time to get on and off. I then found a shoe bag that was 6cm wide and black. AAAWESOME. Now pack with props on and it slides in and out effortlessly. Why DJI does not include this in the fly more package is an outstanding example of lab testing only.
