I just saw that there are now new updates for both the Inspire 2 and Inspire 1.  For the Inspire 2, it's 4.1.7.
I'm installing it now and will go test it as soon as it's done.  I'll let you guys know what happens.

I am installing both Go Apps now. Did you see the size of these programs? over 356meg each... no wonder the iPad is having some trouble with the new software

How do you update the NFZ database as you unhook the device from the RC unit?  No screen to see anything being done as it's disconnected.

I could not get the NFZ database to download. Tried multiple times but they all failed.  Choose to ignore and went fly.  Even though I was signed into my DJI account, the AC would only go 100ft and 100ft out.

OK, just tried again and succeeded in downloading the database.  Actually went very fast.  Going try to fly again.  Hopefully that will lift the 100ft fencing.

How do you know it downloaded if you do not have the RC connected to the screen?

I'm stuck with the constant nagging "Update the NFZ database."

OK, just got back in from testing.  So far so good.  After doing the database update, the Geofence lifted and all was good.  I made a 16 minute flight starting at 80% after sitting at idle while trying to do updates.  The temperature here is 90º F, but I did not get any CPU warnings standing in direct sunlight.  Also, I flew out around 2000 ft at an altitude of 400 ft and the video feed stayed smooth even in sport mode.  Hopefully this continues and we finally have a fix!

You hook your iPad directly to the aircraft. Make sure the switch next to the USB port on the drone is in the Mobile Position. Start the drone and then start to DJI go 4 app.  It will check for updates and tell you that there is a geo fence update and will ask you to update now.  If you ignore, you will be limited to 100 ft in each direction.
After you are done updating the drone, be sure to put that switch back in desktop mode to avoid any mid-air updates.

Blackwood, are you running latest Inspire 2 aircraft firmware? Were you also having issues with the overheating iOS and terrible HD quality and significantly limited RC signal range?

I'm so hesitant to upgrade anything at this point ...

Yes, yes,yes and yes.  All issues went away SO FAR.  I only had one set of batteries charged earlier, so I had limited testing.  Waiting for them to finish recharging now.  In fact, I just heard one set beep.

Just made another flight with no problems.  Only got 12 minutes out of it because of rain.  I was about a 1/4 mile out looking down on about a 45 degree angle when I notice the top of the image was getting hazy.  I angled up the camera and saw a wall of rain coming my way.  Had to switch to Sport mode and haul it back to the office before the rain got it.  Made it back with only 2 drops on it's roof.

The new DJI Go app for the Inspire 1 is version 3.1.15.  I only have it because we had an OSMO that uses the same app.  I just checked it out, and it looks like the only changes they made in that app is a fix for sound when using an OSMO.  I don't see anything in the update description about drone bugs.

I was playing around doing the Yaw and Pitch EXP recal and the "Center Gimbal" (Blue button) in the settings is not working.  Mine is looking maybe 3 degrees to the left.

Have some issues naming the three Configuration names too.  I tried "Inspire 2" to separate it from the P4, but hitting OK or Done goes back to Configuration 3.  No big deal.

I also tried a gimbal recalibration (Another blue box) and the Laowa 7.5mm kept striking the ground with the lens hood on.  It's not a big lens and with the hood off it is front light, but correct with it on.  I took it off and it seemed to work through it.  Wish the feet were another inch off the ground at times as even grass hits the camera during setting up at times or pointing the camera down with C1.

Maybe in 4.1.8.

We will try this upgrade. We are experiencing serious master-slave link issues. They only work if we are just meters appart. If not, the slave looses its connection. We have an average of three bars in the link indication in the slave controller. Reaching four only when master is just centimeters from the slave...

I've posted this on other threads, but will also add it here: DJI should really acknowledge what has happened to our hardware with the latest update(s), and more detailed/specific notes if anything was fixed in the latest version of the app. There is only reference to Spark in the app's notes.

They do not give any information about fixes for Inspire series on the App Store. And they still have not acknowledged the issue with the June firmware. Someone posted a video on another thread showing three Inspire 1's that were upgraded and their signal quality and performance was complete garbage -- then they downgraded 2 versions and they show that it was back to normal again.

So, it would just be really nice to know what's actually going on. I feel like I'm getting dealt a junk hand at the casino, where the house always wins. So scared to upgrade anything right now until I know for a fact that it actually presents a resolution, with no more question marks.

(All I see is question marks. I know the forum members are great at sharing their experiences and input with the new app, but DJI really needs to address this. I mean, seriously.)

We did not upgraded because we were close to a job and did not wanted to risk, but had our worst working day ever:
master-slave poor connection even in a 10m range. Signal cutting if they get more separated. Video from drone cutting and freezing even at 100m distance...and it was for a live feef to OB truck job! Everybody saying "the drone signal is useless".
So 4.1.7 is not solving this???

Does anybody know what the problem with the editor tab is. When I put together a video from scratch it won't complete after I've hit complete. It just gets stuck on a random percentage even for hours. Please help.

You are the first person I've seen that actually uses that editor.  I've been begging for them to remove it or at least make a version of the app that doesn't have it and only controls the Inspire 2 because the app is too bloated to work correctly now.
