So I bought an iPad Air 2 specifically for use with my mavic pro. I bought a tablet mount + hood from ebay (generic, cheap one) but it turned out to be very flimsy and the hood doesn't even fit my iPad.

Are there any decent one that will fully support the iPad without feeling flimsy and able to add a sun hood?

Some mounts come an extension of the Lightning to USB to allow you to plug into bottom of controller. Do all the functions still work like follow me if using this cable?

Happy with the PGY tech mount for my 10.5" Pro.

The usb ports on the bottom of both the mavic and the spark controller are below the section where the mount plates sit in both mounts.

In the lifthor which comes from underneath the controller to the tablet holder, there is a split section that should allow you access to the usb ports

The mavmount which I have, has full access to the bottom usb port

Easy enough to build one with some 1/4" aluminum and an iPad tripod mount.  Draw it out on the computer, print actual size, trim with scissors, test fit, cut out actual plate from abs, lexan, or aluminum.
