At NAB a friend of mine had a really cool 360 degree selfie stick called a Ricoh Theta. If you were to attach this to a Phantom 3 drone, you would get full 360 degree movies and still images you can play back on a VR headset. This is what the future of drone video cameras could look like. If you record an entire sphere, you can get image stabilization without needing a gimbal.

I have a feeling if you flew one of those things in the air you wouldn't be able to tell what anything was, it would just be a big sphere of dots and colors.

On the other hand, attaching a flir cam to the bottom would be badass.
