Hello,

I have tried to upgrade the latest firmware of my Phantom 3 Professional, and something gone wrong.
During the update, the sound of the sistem went different as the normal way, then when I take off the memory card, the txt file says "the update failed, please reboot the aircraft".
I did reboot the unit, but nothing happend, and new txt says:

Packet: P3X_FW_V01.01.0008.bin
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft.

I don't know what to do, I can't update the firmware and the version in my unit is a corrupt version. Please, help me! How can I reset the firmware???

Try to reformat the card (quick format FAT) and then put the firmware files on the root directory and follow this video:

you are already on the latest firmware.
or do you mean your phantom doesnt work anymore?
try to redownload the files and do it again if your phantom doesnt work anymore.

I do understand the firmware is actually already charged in the system,  but it doesn't upgrade properly, the txt says that the upgrade failed, so I'm afraid something could be wrong in any moment...during the fly, for example.
I don't want to fly my P3 before to be sure about the firmware have been charged properly.
What do you think? :/

I used this video to do the upgrade. Very useful but...I had the problem that I explained.
I'm gonna try to reformat the card and then try to upgrade again.

I am having the exact same problem.

I appeared to start making the correct D D D D sound.

Then the sound changed to a long DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD...........

50 mins later it was still making the same sound.

I switched the aircraft off.

Now I'm trying to start the process all over again but it will not work.

I formatted the card and started from scratch.

When I switch the aircraft on now, I do not get the D D D D sound anymore.

Nothing happens. The tiny LED on the front of the gimbal does not flash red/green anymore.

I'm stumped !!!

Well, actually the firmware was installed in my aircraft. I sent an TXT file wich was requested for people of DJI and they told me that the firmware was in my aircraft. So I have been flying my P3 with no problems.
In the other hand, I see there is a new firmware in the DJI website (http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3/download) , so I'm going to upgrade it now. I hope everything will be fine at this time. You have to try to do that again!!!

Have received P-3 yesterday. The aircraft upgraded successfully. Tried to upgrade RC, nothing happened, no sound, status LED - red. Was waiting for 5 min, after switched the RC off. Log on card said:

Exactly the same as in above posts. Reformatted card, redownloaded file .bin - no result. My friend applied to DJI, receiving the answer: you no longer need to upgrade the firmware on the RC (???).

Connected RC to aircraft - success. Opened DJI Pilot (IoS), connected, no problems found, no upgardes requested. "Safe to Fly" displayed. Seems everything ok? Going to fly today, but some reasonable doubts exist. What you think???

The same as you. My aircraft upgraded ok, but my RC had the same symtom like yours.  Actually, if you see in your tablet when it is connected, you can see that the RC has the latest firmware. In my case, it seems that the RC was upgraded automatically when I was connected to wifi. LOL.
I think you should try to fly your P3 with no worries.

The only way to upgrade is with the file from the website, it won't update over wifi,

the v.18 firmware was for both the P3 and the controller,

V.19 is for the P3 only, so if you shipped with v.18 its only the phantom that needs to upgrade.

But in my RC appears that it is installed the latest firmware (1.1.9)...and I didn't install it, I just installed the 1.1.8. How can you explain it is already installed the latest one?

If you have long DDDDDD sound, you probably have 2 firmware bin files on the SD card. New and old for example..

I´ve formated the sd card, then copy the 1.2.6 bin file into the sd card.

Glad you made a post months later stating that all is working.
firmware updates can be confusing, just follow the tutorial videos and go slow and you'll be fine.

I too am having problems upgrading the controller. I had the same results as Bluecoraldiver, but now my controller has stopped working completely. It will not show battery levels when checking and will not even turn on. I sent it back to DJI. They tell me it sounds like a controller problem. Will let you know the outcome!!

Could you please provide your case number so I can better follow up?

Trying to upgrade the RC with DJI Go 4 and it keeps failing.

Ok, so I got that sorted. Now every time I launch it crashes the app. I'm using an S7 with everyhting updated. This seems to happen way to regularly, not happy DJI!!!

It is not necessary to blame DJI for user error.

If you've updated your Phantom and now experience issues Please update your Phantom to resolve any issues.
This may or may not involve waiting for the next FW release.

If you have not updated your Phantom, please continue to fly with no issues.

you got some balls to say the firmware you make us update is our fault for bricking the drone we paid you for...
