My neighbor and I each bought identical PH3 Standards two days ago.  I have flown my PH3 twice with no problems using my iPad & WiFi.  My neighbor attempted to use his Android phone & WiFi and everything looked good-INCLUDING camera video.  However, he was still receiving the red "NO SIGNAL" indication. We connected to his aircraft and RC with my iPad, and had NO trouble.  Tried this several times with the same results. With iPad OK.  With Android app, NO SIGNAL.  Does anyone know exactly what triggers the "NO SIGNAL" alarm to appear?  Exactly what signal is missing?  Now, I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop with my iPad monitored aircraft!!

I have the exact problem with my Phantom 3 Advanced after I updated FW to 1.3.20 and DJI GO app 2.0. I did't had this type of PROBLEM when used the FW 1.2.8. First time the problem appeared in the air when flying: NO SIGNAL message, with no GPS, HD or RC bars available for maybe 5 sec.; after that the SAFE TO FLY appeared with no problems after that. I used also the second battery with no problems.

The day after, when connecting, "surprise":  NO SIGNAL directly when to start the copter. I try to close the app, open it again but with no chance; after that i decided to clear video cache and reinstall the DJI GO app from AppStore. First time when opened the app, the same problem but after 10 secs, instantly, the green message appeared and took off with the 2 batteries with no problem.

DJIIIIIIIIII, what seems to be the problem??????

I am having the exact same problem as everyone in this forum. Has anyone found a solution yet? It seems that this problem has gone on too long, and DJI needs to get their act together if they want to be a successful drone business. Any one of us could make drones just as good, and probably with BETTER customer service, but that is why we pay good money for these drones so we don't have to do this. I have LITERALLY tried everything that everyone has said, and I believe it is the upgrade in the Remote Controller. DJI says that you can downgrade the firmware, but surprise surprise, they give us no input on how to do this. I am wondering if this is even possible at all.

Just this morning I, and I am sure all of you, have received an e-mail saying how to update the firmware. This is just a link to a thread where people are having tons of problems. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the customer experience I receive from DJI.

Thank you all for your help, and I hope we, if DJI can't do it for us, figure out a problem to this mess.

Data point: received my P3P for Christmas (thanks, wife!). Upgraded all firmware. Everything worked great for about 5 flights. Then I flew it into a tree. (ProTip: flying up a mountain with the camera pointed straight down makes it hard to rise at the correct rate to avoid big trees that you don't see coming.)

It crashed out of the top of the tree into snow (thankfully ending upside down, with camera mostly out of the snow). After that crash I am experiencing this issue. This on its own would lead me to believe that it's a physical camera connection issue.

However, *immediately* after it crashed I retrieved it with the  video working fine. Carried it to clear spot, tried to power up the motors…app kept complaining that the motors were obstructed. All this time I had video signal on the tablet. Then I rebooted the copter (battery power off, power on). At THIS point I got the No Signal problem. This leads me to believe that it's software-related. There was no physical change between it working and then not working, other than rebooting the copter.

I'm going to experiment with various reboots now, and inspect physical cables, but thought I'd share my data points.


Edit: pulled the flight battery and let everything sit and dry a few hours. Pulled the SD card (not because I'm smart, but because I needed to download the video). First boot it started with "No signal" for about 5 seconds and then I got signal from the camera. Will see if it still works when I put the SD card back in.

I must admit some of the tech info in this thread is great, but my question is.  Has everyone decided that as long as the firmware update is not done, that the signal loss  does not happen?  I just returned a P3s that flew fine for almost 2 weeks and then had total video feed loss on every flight.  I'd like to upgrade to the Advanced, but not if I'm going to have the same problem.  If the fix is to not update the firmware, I see no issue with that unless someone here knows better.  Thanks for any info.!

I've been getting "Weak Transmission Signal" since upgrading my firmware on both RC and AC after coming back from vacation last week with the 12/22 dated firmware.  I get video signal from the camera but I can't auto take off, only manual but I still get video feed.  I'm in Australia.  Wierd thing is that I bought a 2nd P3P as a backup in Hawaii and updated the firmware while I was there and didn't have such issues.  I haven't flown that bird since returning home but my older bird is experiencing this problem.

I will go thru the normal troubleshooting steps in this thread and report back,  Happy now that I've joined the club...not!

I've been having the EXACT same issues, except it happened randomly. It starts up normally (gimbal does its dance), I can move the camera, record video, take pics, fly it, yada, yada, yada.  But... no video from camera, and NO craft information and says "Not Connected" as the status. Once in a while... it works and I can fly the entire battery with no issues.  Once it's powered off to replace the battery... "Not Connected"  again, yet still have full control of the P3P. I've replaced the USB cable (the first time that seemed to work... just a coincidence though).  I believe this all started to occur at the last update of the DJI GO app.  There's a downloadable version on one of the P3 facebook forums that allows you to use the old "Pilot" app, and have read many people complaining about the new GO app.

Have you checked your NTSC/PAL setting?  At least you are getting telemetry, I get the "Not Connected" message at the top and NO telemetry. Yet... I can control the gimbal, take video, pics, and fly.

So this is the 3rd time I've attempted to reply to this on the mobile site and the last 2 times my replies never posted. Here goes attempt 3. Had same issue. Just got my quad today. Not new to rc scene, just been apprehensive with spending so much on a drone. Updated firmware had flight for 3 mins before losing video. Landed, researched, found no viable solution, downgraded firmware, tried video again, got nothing. Uninstalled app, wiped every trace of said app from my phone, everything! Folders, saved data, all app data(requires a rooted device) then rebooted phone and reinstalled. Checked video feed, it was back. Power cycled everything again, checked it after starting quad up, video still there. Updated fw, checked again, video still there. Went ahead and shut everything down for a few mins, turned it all back on, video still working. Not sure if this is an overall app issue having compatibility issues or if it is in fact the fw not initializing the video layer when it connects , but that is truly annoying. Might work for you, not sure what you have all tried. If you're using an apple device, not much I can say aside from wiping app data and uninstalling then reinstalling after reboot.

Hi Guys,

Now I know that the "NO SIGNAL" problem is related to the gimbal.

I have 2 birds (P3P). swapped the gimbal from one to another bird and the problem persist.

When I tried to update the firmware using the same gimbal in different bird I receive the same update firmaware problem:

I think that was a problem in the firmware upgrade process that caused these 2 devices do not be upgraded properly, so they will never be started again.

May be DJI can generate a software fix for this, but as a solution (for me that lives outside US) is buy anothe gimbal. :-(

Guys, I got my new P3 Pro a week ago. I was having the same “no video” issue as everyone else described in the posts – but mine was no video right out of the box. I have three tablets… a Samsung 10”, LG 8”, and a LG 7” – all Android based. The 7 & 8 inch tablets had the “no video” problem when I tried them first, but then I connected the 10in and presto… I was seeing video. I’m posting this since it may work for some of you whose issue is similar to mine.

What I found: USB Debugging needed to be enabled on my 7 & 8 inch Android tablets.

To enable USB Debugging on your Android device…
1.        Navigate to Settings -> Developer options and enable USB debugging by putting a check in the box. That’s it.
Note: If Developer options is not visible in Settings – some devices it is hidden, then go to Settings -> About phone, and click on Build number 5 times to enable Developer options. Follow step #1 again.

Once I enabled USB Debugging, I turned on the P3 Pro first, then turned on then Controller second and waited for the green ready light, then I plugged my tablet into the USB port. It brought up my DJI App automatically. I selected camera mode for my specific device (P3Pro) and the video started to display correctly then.

I know that most of you guys may have more underlying issues that are firmware or hardware related. But for those of you having trouble… it is worth looking into this setting to see if it could be causing your issues. Maybe the settings went back to default on your tablet/phone at some point.

BTW… My first flight was today and the P3 Pro performed admirably. I was really skeptical about taking it out after reading through every one of these posts on this topic. But it was really easy to fly and maneuver (I have past experience with RC Helis & Airplanes). So I’m gonna chalk my first flight out with the Phantom as a success!

Hey,

I had the exact same problem on my P3P.The 1.5 update caused the damage and essentially bricked the video feed module. It wouldn't update too.
I sent it in for an RMA and it came back as good as before.

Have you tried taking images even though it doesn't show anything?
Just to see if it actually is the same problem as I had. I could take images and they would be stored on the SD card.From the logs I've seen, it looks like you have the same issue as I had.  I suppose you should contact DJI support via email directly. They sorted it all out for me

It seems this thread is quite old, many months since first problems with novideo feed oproblem reported. And yet - I can't find any working solution from DJI. What a shame.
I am the new guy in No Vision club, same as you all posted. I re-installed app, did updates, checked cables, all things described in this thread. nothing works. black screen. Video and photos are recorded on SD card, i can even see live histogram changes as camera moves around - but no actual image.

It is my 3rd phantom, and I experienced terrible lack of support from DJI some 2 years ago when i bought P2 with a badly assembled remote.  UIt seems DJI did not improve their service a bit. So, I still hope that someone will find out about this problem and share.

As for the POOR SIGNAL and interfererence message - I had it too after firmware updates. What helped it in my case was un-installing the app, and then downloading/installing it on my smart phone again.   I find it surprising how fragile and how prone to errors this system is.  On my P2 i added FPV home system using parts from ebay - and it works without any issues, while this high-end system has so many issues.
DJI created wonderful technology, but is plagued by bad quality control and non-existent support, so we all pay big bucks to be their beta testers. Seems that once they get our money, we served our purpose. A very short sighted strategy, and one day their good fortune baloon may burst.   Phantom 3 Professional? there is nothing professional about unit not working straight from the box.

the NO VIDEO SIGNAL FEED problem SOLVED - at least in my case.
After spending lots of time trying to fix it - I asked my friend to come with a brand new ASUS tablet, running the newest android on it. i think 6.1
Guess what? video magically appeared!!!
So, it shows that the app is fussy or buggy, and does not want to work on everything, even if listed as ok (I tried  before on samsung note3)
Now i need to spend another $150 or so on a new tablet - but it will work!

Having same issue on my P3 standard after replacing ribbon cable. Everything works fine after powering up but camera stops communicating and droops after about 10secs. Video is still live but no communication with gimbal and RC......

I'll add my Phantom 3 Adv to the list of MIAs. I've been flying it with no problem for several months.
All of a sudden today, I get the red "No Signal" on startup. After several shut down startups, (typically start RC, load app, turn on quad), it's never failed.
I could start the rotors and fly it w/no problem.  But screen said "No signal" and i had no video.
I brought it home and tried again in my back yard. Now I get a gray "Disconnected". The RC has a Red LED instead of green.
The rotors will not start.  I recently updated firmware and controller, but I will check for updates.
I see several posts w/this problem but they are one a year old. Was it solved?

I've got a similar problem.
DJI Phantom 3 4k
Samsung Note 4

I lose connection to the drone when it is 10m away in the air.
I can still control the drone and it still saves to the SD-card but I get no image to the phone.

I've only flown at 4 different locations and this has occurred at all of them but not always. Yesterday I reset the drone controller connection like in this video but I have not tried it out yet to see if it worked.


I don't use a cable between my phone and the controller. Do I need to?

I can answer my own post.
Today I test flew it again and now it seems to work better. But if I take off and fly almost directly over me I still lose contact after about 25-30m up.

What I did was to reinstall the app and to re-link the controller. I flew today at the same spot as the last.

I have the exact same set up as yours and I tried the above video and it DOES NOT work. It's really annoying. I was on a live chat with DJi today and they took so long to understand the problem that I gave up.

I will try again tomorrow otherwise will return the P3 4K and look at other models on the market because this is RIDICULOUS !!!!!!

After searching, it looks like there is NO FIX.
I tried all of the same tricks.
On line with support for an hour and now sending it back.
A total of 30 minutes of flight time on this unit.
DJI continues to fail to respond with solutions.
This has been going on for a year now?

What exactly are you experiencing, this thread is a few months old and from the last posts the camera was not working after a firmware update. Is this your issue and you've seen your hidden log file and modules 8 & 15 say device not detected?

Hi Ken,

I'm having the same issue. The gimbal will initialize for the first 5-10 seconds after power on but after that the gimbal will go limp and just hanging. I'm using the updated firmware.

[00041136]Packet upgrade failed at version checking.

I've read this is a hardware problem.   I purchased this p3p in March, 2015 but have never flown it.   I've been keeping the firmware up to date but the most recent update (1.9) failed and seems to have  triggered the hardware problem.  How can this happen? I can record video but nothing gets transmitted.  The Go APP show all the latest firmware versions installed.

Please advise what should be done as I've run out of things to try.

I have  no devices  8 and 15 detected too.

I'm sorry there's nothing you can do, you need to send it in for repair.
If the flight data recorder shows it's never been flown, they may offer some assistance but I'm just guessing and honestly don't know what will happen.
Call 818-235-0789 in the morning and they will send you a prepaid shipping label.

I have similar problems with my P3P.
The app on my Galaxy tab3V often shows NO SIGNAL but I am able to fly it without any problems.
The NO SIGNAL only refers to the camera signal and the screen goes to black and white.
This is very annoying as it stops you from being able to film and making pictures plus causing orientation problems.
During flight, when I go to immage transmission settings I can switch from custom to auto and this normally brings the signal back for a minute or so.
But then it is lost again.
I had this issue actually from the beginning but it is getting worse and worse. Now to such a point where I am no longer able to film and make pictures.
I tried all the advices and tips as mentioned in previous postings but nothing fixes the problem permanently.
I am an expat living in Indonesia and sending it for repair is not a doable option.  
Any new tips or fixes on this matter?

The first thing DJI is going to say to you is to try a different device other than the Galaxy.

It is related to failed hardware in board. No signal error can be repaired. We repair them daily!
