Also the video output just works randomly - anybody here who can provide me a previous firmware version ( assistant software for gh4 which should make a downgrade possible...)

Z15-GH4 (HD) .. client's demand for lightbridge is forcing me to buy. I am happy to ship worldwide, have got box and everything.. Australia Dollar $1500 + shipping around $50 is a bargain deal.

Ok so it looks like us GH3 folks have video and non-spinning cameras. Now I wanted to do the latest A2 update but it says you need to have the GCU at 2.0...no no no no...not going to do that until someone says it works...whos first?

There is no GCU for GH3 which is 2.0. My A2 is at latest 2.6 firmware and GH3 is on its correct latest firmware and all working fine.

Ok...then you updated the A2 to the latest and have the gimbal at 1.4? I was a little worried because the release notes said to update the gimbal to 2.0..thus my hesitation...but if it works then I'm good with that...
Heres the release notes: Note Gimbal 2.0

Notes:
 Ensure controller unit firmware matches IMU firmware. Otherwise there is a potential aircraft damage risk.
 Upgrade GPS module to the latest version to enhance the GPS performance in harsh conditions.
 Upgrade gimbal firmware to the latest version (v2.0) to use with the latest A2 firmware (v2.4).
 Use with the latest version of the DJI A2 Assistant Software, Ground Station and gimbal firmware.
 Mac users should use the latest A2 Assistant software on Mac OS X 10.9 or above.
 When upgrade is complete, check the configuration of A2 controller unit then unlock the controller unit in A2 Assistant.
 Once upgraded, calibration parameters saved in the A2 controller unit will be cleared. Recalibrating the IMU and the compass is
required.

It appears GCU firmware 2.2 was just released today.

yep:
Upgraded the GCU firmware to V2.2 to fix video output problems when using the GH3 gimbal and GCU V2.0.

BUT, it doesn't say that they fixed the spinning issue. The upgrade of GCU seems common in both GH3 and GH4.

Yuri, does your shutter control work, i have upgraded and now every time i activate the shutter it shuts down the video output and the only way to get it back is to carry out a power cycle, I take a lot of stills in my work and this is a real pain.
Also have noticed that it turns on the camera wifi at random times during gimbal initalization not every time, but certainly every other.

Can anyone else confirm if they are getting the same issues?
I think that version 2.2 has been released in hurry and is as buggy as the last release, back to version 1.4 for me better than this even with the twitches.

I flew only FPV.Buddy you're right.I am back v1.4  Excuse me friends. DJI .... !!!

Heres hoping they fix it soon and get it right this time, as i think we have all been patient enough, but this now costing dearly and i'm starting to lose work because of not being able to supply a reliable machine.

Ok..upgraded the A2. Had a little problem with the A2 GPS pro with failure to download but when I hit "upgrade all" it worked. Couple scary moments like after you re-power it sounds like the cockpit of a 737 when the engines quit..all kinds of beeping. Not to worry, you have to go in and completely remap everything in the Assistant and to get rid of the beeps the first thing is to click what type of rotor vehicle you have. I noticed an additional hex choice...if you have the 1000 make sure you choose the right hex...it shows the 2 red M1 and M2 arms. I did NOT upgrade the gimbal GCU and it still works fine. You will also have to re-calibrate the IMU..you know, the 360 dance. One other thing, watch the "REV" boxes in the Assistant. If you go to upgrade look at your assistant and see what controls you have set or not set to REV..it looks like by default they all are REV. Lastly fire up and check left/right/up/down before takeoff just incase you have a control REV. Hope this helps somebody. whew! Oh, and I wasnt able to update the assistant..I had to go out to DJI and download the new 1.4 Assistant.

Hey Wings...I found what I hope may help the spinning gimbal...when you initialize the gimbal it does its left/right thing and then starts spinning...if you just nudge the camera down with your finger it works. Its like a dead zone or something but maybe it will work for you?

hello, i have a massiv problem since the firmware upagrde to IMU 1.6 and GCU 2.2
i fly since june 2014 without problems, lumix gh3 via zenmuse z15 to an immersionRC 5.8 GHZ video Transmitter, 2x groundstation with diversity monitors/receivers ...

the problem is now after new firmware:
i have a preview picture (both in photo modus and in video modus of gh3 ...) on my monitors when i start up system/cam/copter...
but after the first shutter release (same in video, jkust when i start recording ...) the video preview went black, and no more picture apperas ....

i dont use AUX1 (hdmi switch) at the zenmuse (i never used it ...)
i have checkt gh3 with an normal hdmi cable: there is an picture output before and after i take a picture....(shutter release ..)
the same in video modus, so i`m shure the gh3 cam is ok.

any idea ??

Read the previous postings and you will see that the firmware is at fault, nobody can do anything, we are all having to wait for DJI to fix it.

leave your firmware to v1.4 .. there are no major reason to upgrade anyway.

...ok, but how downgrading to 1.4 ????
