It is a new processor somewhere between the Phantom/Naza and the A2.  The GPS is under the top of the shell.  It also appears to be an improved design over the Phantom.  In LA I was getting 16-17 satellites while the repair staff was getting only 7-8 on the Phantoms they were testing.

how easy is it to swap modes :ie  from Mode 2 to Mode 1?

Very simple in the App to change Tx modes, 1-4.
