hhmm, seems to me only commercial use of drones needs to be registered and certified. Per this headline on GMA news..

it is illegal to fly a drone with a camera in the Philippines at this moment.
I was involved with resort constructions and the subject did come up.
Right now it's no go.
Heavy fine and jail time.
You don't want that in the PH.

Also, the current circular is dated 2014, there is no UAV circular for 2015 on government's website (CAAP)
http://www.caap.gov.ph/index.php ... category/27-mc-2014  (Dont click on link..copy and paste to your browser)

According to that document, Applicability section states, it only applies to large UAV and small UAV other than Sports or Recreation...So this confirms you can still use drones for recreational purposes only..Currently the country has only one certified drone pilot and none of the commercial Drone user such as media ever registered their drones...

You may be stopped by customs when you bring it in.
They will contact the CAAP to " clear the multi into the contry" you may have to wait a long time or pay tax.
This is of course if they see it, try packing inside another case.I was stopped with an empty S1000 case.

hello

base on CAAP amendment 35-14 custom will not hold any drones entering to philippines but these fucking ph customs hold your drone at any couurier in the releasing area or in the airport these people are fucking greedy if they know your drone is expensive they asking some money. the solution is ask someone from caap office to get caap clearance i have one friend in their who faciltate these clearance and you pa maybe 400 pesos you settle thru email ive done these before during my phntom2 send to china then back to ph it is very frustating, disaapointed and costly if they asking what your purpose of your drone tell just for HOBBY only because im a hobbyist and show them the caap clearance  http://www.caap.gov.ph/index.php ... -aerial-vehicle-uav let me know if you like to contact caap guy to help i will send guy email and contact number for you

Also they mentioned TAX.

I brought 3 batteries with me on a single backpack..I don't think there is an issue bringing the drone in the philippines..In Davao, the security asked me what was inside my backpack because it was flagged in the scanner, I showed them that it is a LIPO battery..Then they asked me what was on the other luggage(I put the drone on another big luggage..I told them that it is a drone and the battery was on my backpack..then they let me go..

i wrote them a letter jan 05, 2016 (CAAP) and a certain Capt Efren C Rocamora (Department Manager Regulatory Standards Department) replied (jan 18, 2016) GRANTING my request to bring my DJI Phantom 3 Professional 3 Drone weighing 1.28kg in the Philippines provided that the following provisions of the Philippines Civil Aviation Regulations is observed. I will put this letter inside my DJI hard case backpack in case they question it.  It's a 2 page letter Granting the operation of my personal drone with the attached provision (rules and regulations).

with this there is no way i will not be bringing my drone next month for my trip to the philippines especially in palawanan and vigan.

Write them a letter and they will surely reply to you (just give them time to reply).  I thought i will never get an answer but i did.

good luck

Hi Myron,

Is this something that you can still help with? I am travelling to the Philippines on December 18th and would like to be able to bring my Phantom 4 drone into the country.

Would Allan still be someone who I could contact regarding this?

All the best,

Jack
