I've done tests with apple tv and airplay.  IMO it can get pretty glitchy depending on how good your wireless connection is.  It's also my understanding that a wireless network could interfere with the communications to the quad.  I had my best results with the HDMI out tethered to a TV.  Take that for what it's worth.  

The best solution would be to connect with a HDMI cable to a HDMI screen.

For posterity, looks like Litchi users have the ability to stream to a second mobile iOS device running their free Litchi Vue app.
