Lets see if we can perswade DJI to allow 100Mbp/s for the Inspire 1 & Phantom 3 Pro - https://www.change.org/p/dji-100mbp-s-bit-rate-for-the-phantom-3-professional

Here is the image processor of the P3 : Ambarella A9 simplified data sheet : http://www.ambarella.com/uploads/docs/A9%20Product%20Brief.pdf.

Video Encoding
° H.264 codec BP/MP/HP Level 5.1 and MJPEG° Ultra HD 4K encode performance
° 1080p120, 720p240 modes
° Low bitrate/high quality encoding

You can see it in the opened P3 camera : http://www.toptoyspace.com/2015/05/14/disassembling-the-dji-phantom-3-video-camera/

Wow you are definitely right about the Ambarella.  They have been used in GoPro's too, right?

Based on this post I thought it was a limitation but looks like this guy had it all wrong.

This would be fantastic. The "pulsing"/"flickering" artefacts are really messing up my shots.

id be happy with 2.7k 60FPS,

has there been any proper comparison of the Advance camera vs the Pro, there is a HW difference i believe, the Pro has extra processing

Link to the PDF not working and your info about:
H.264 codec BP/MP/HP Level 5.1

Is just a general thing it has nothing to do with the chip that is in it..... it's just a codec.

H.264 is the best codec for the best results from compression.
So with a higher bit rate the video images are much more better than any other codecs.

Add this to the petition :
- separate settings for video and photo
- ISO setting by 1/3 IL like the shutter setting : it is currently impossible to fine tune the exposition considering the shutter speed has to remain fixed for video (usually 2 times the frame rate). So we have only the ISO to control the exposition and this f....g setting is only available with full IL steps... what an idiocy !!!

This link should work: http://www.ambarella.com/uploads/docs/A9-product-brief.pdf

Looking at the simple specifications for the Ambarella A9 chip, there is nothing I could find that suggests bit rates of around 100 Mb/s can be achieved. You would also have difficulty in getting them onto a MicroSD card at that rate too, as few could handle the sustained data write rate.

Looking at the si ...

100Mbps is no problem for SD cards,  don't get Mbps mixes up with MBps,

One is Bits and one is Bytes and they are every different

60 Mbps is 7.5 MBps,
100 is 12.5MBps

Sandisk Extreme UHC3 cards can handle between 80MBps write speed, thats tones and tones of speed available.

SD cards  write speeds are no issue.  the Pro Cards can write at 100 MBps thats 800 Mbps

its know the A9 is limited to 60Mbps

Yes, I do know the difference between Bytes and bits, that's why I quoted bits in my comment. As near as I can tell, Sandisk do not have a UHC3 card and neither does anyone else, they do have a UHS3 card though.

And while the Sandisk Extreme Pro claims a write speed of up to 95MB/s, the operative phrase there is 'up to', and often the cards do not reach these speeds in practice. Also, they are actually burst rates, not sustained, which I also mentioned earlier, which is a different thing again.
