I have had my Phantom 3 Pro for over a month and it has worked perfectly UNTIL it requested an update.  After installing the update (yes correctly) it has since given me the NO SIGNAL error and I no longer have a camera feed.  I had the same issue with my Phantom Vision 2+ and figured it would be resolved so just bought the 3.  As you can imagine I am very upset.  I have been on hold for each of the 3 support sites and been DISCONNECTED each time automatically at the end of waiting for 15-40 minutes at a time.

Is it me or is this just awful service and lack of info?  I have checked the forums and there are many other people wiht the same issue.  I am trying to communicate with someone in tech but dont have hours each day to try to communicate with someone.

Anyone have any ideas here?  I need this drone but this isnt cool.  

Where do I go to get real tech support?  Is there a secret number to call?  Any idea on how I can remedy this?  I am kind of upset at this point.  Especially since I "upgraded" per the apps request.

Did you update the P3, remote and the DJI Go app?  What does the app say you have  for versions on each item?

Yes, this subject has been covered many times and DJI does know about it.  Many people have downgraded back to a previous FW even though that will forego the new features we just got.  There have been others that have tried pushing in the cable that attaches to the camera and gimble with some success, others have tried talking to the "drone gods" above and offered up their first unborn child with success too!  I wish you the best as you have just joined many of us in this issue.

Sorry to hear, mine also worked perfectly but will no longer work since the latest firmware update. Slightly different issue though as the compass will not calibrate no matter what I try. So far have had no support from DJI regarding this and sounds like my supplier is have similar issues contacting them to try to resolve things. Hope you can get it resolved. Good luck!

on the SD card there will be two log files, one called P3X_FW_RESULT_AB.txt on the root of the SD card and another in a hidden folder called /MISC/LOG called P3X_FW_LOG_AB.txt

Can you post the contents of them files please.






@DarrenDCClark, like I said before, looks like the compass on your P3 is faulty.. Not much I can think of other than replace the compass yourself or send it back to DJI..

FYI - sorry this won't help you.... At the weekend, on my second flight, on startup my P3 pro sounded the firmware upgrade FAILED tone (why it was even trying when it was already on 1.4...). There was no video feed and I got the red NO SIGNAL. Flaffed around with reboots, cables, etc. and no joy. When I got it back home later that day I downgraded to 1.3.20 and the video feed was restored. Then upgraded back and still OK. Moral of the story: don't keep the firmware on the SD card! (despite what DJI say)

This update is failing on module 08 and 15 ( Air encoder and Air End USB transmit ). I have asked DJI if there is a fix the user can do but as yet not had a responce.

You can try this as a pot luck method..

1: Power OFF the P3 and RC. remove the battery from the P3 and leave it off for 20 minutes.
2: Whilst waiting for 20 minutes, put the SD card into a computer and delete everything other than the latest firmware file.
3: After 20 minutes, power on the RC and ipad/tablet and power ON the phantom WITHOUGHT the SD card in.
4: Give the P3 a minute to settle THEN put the SD card in whilst the P3 is ON. Wait and see if the update starts/finishes..

All else fails, it might well need to go back to DJI..

Hi Aaron the initial 1.3.20 also screeched when I tried to put it on originally, although bizarrely the App said it was updated! I have no idea why it doesn't update properly or give a signal, i'm hoping Sploodge can point me in the right direction, especially as DJI Germany never answer the phone!

Ok Sploodge i'll give it a go , but thanks for pointing me in the correct direction. Do you know if Heliguys accept the drone ? Or does everyone have to get an RMA from DJI Germany?, without them picking up the phone I don't know how to get the RMA number?

Incase anyone in the UK wants to know, I'm sending mine to Heliguys to assess, 25 pounds plus 15 PnP. If they find a fault that DJI would be interested in, they'll try and arrange an RMA form for me and send to the new centre in the Netherlands. This makes my life much easier so fingers crossed, thanks to Sploodges help, they will have an idea straight away.

Another situation with no signal after the firmware update.  Aircraft, RC and App have all been updated with no signal.  Is there a trick to downgrading to previous firmware version?  I've tried and it doesn't complete.

Hi, i have the same problem, everithing was great....until i did the last firmware...now i dont get any video signal on my ipad mini and android phone, and there is a red sign with "no signal"....the app says that i need to upgrade the RC, when i did the upgrade and reboot the RC it doesn´t record the upgrade and i have to start again.
i contact the DJI support with live chat, email and phone....they don´t care about it, i dont have a solution for this.
i think that the app have some bugs that need to be fixed. Does any one tryed a diferent APP?...may be that´s the solution.

For anyone having video feed issues:

I have had broken or "ripped" video for the last week, including "no signal" warnings while flying. status shows the signal is strong regardless of what it says.
P3 Pro, latest firmware, iPad Mini 2, new connection cable.

What I tried: different cable - no change, different iPad - no change, relinked the connection to the RC - no change, checked and reseated the connection of the ribbon cables to the cam - no change, checked the antenna lines in the landing gear - they were all fine.

Then after reading all of the suggestions here, I reformatted the micro card including removing the .bin file, shutdown ALL processes on the iPad including wifi and bluetooth and misc programs, and recalibrated the IMU (even though it said it was OK). Not sure which one of these, or maybe all of them, helped solve the issue.

Just took it up and its working fine. I'll run it again this afternoon if its not too hot, just to see if this was short lived.

The hot (100) afternoon flight went fine BTW.

A quick note:
Without question, the iPad gets very warm fairly quickly while flying, not sure about the other tablets, but this is definitely pushing the iPad hard.

i think the reformatting of the card is what does it what update are you guys using now that its back to working the most present one or the one before it

I had the same problem no signal and rebooted the android app cleared up the problem

Nope, you can not just install an older firmaware. It fail because it is identical or older than the current firmaware.

Okay guys,

I've been blessed with this video issue as well. I have the P3Pro, an iPad mini, iPhone 6, Nvidia Shield and a Tab 4. DJI Go on the I devices and on the Droid devices. After days of trial and error and every attempt to get 1.4 working properly, here is what I have thus far. I did the reinstall of 1.4 as Sploodge indicated using the reset button. It successfully reinstalled 1.4. I did the advanced IMU calibration, the gimble calibration and the RC calibration. Took it out for a test flight, lost video 20' out. Went to custom in the HD settings and tried every channel individually. Still dropped video. Brought the bird back in and deleted the contents of the SD card. I then deleted all of the files from my SD card and copied only the P3X_FW_V01.03.0020.bin file on the card. Powered up the bird and it successfully reinstalled 1.3.20. I did not calibrate anything, just took it out and for test flights. It worked fine, no video drops. I went and looked at the HD graph and could see the channel signals flipping back and forth (red and green). Most of the signals, particularly the red would go to the top of the chart. In 1.4, when I saw channel blips they were very low, they barely even registered on the chart. I just came and cleared my SD card again and copied just the 1.4 bin file to the card. As I write this my bird just successfully completed the 1.4 update. Here is the entire content of the quick log file on the card:

I'm going to replicate the same sequence. Try to go back to 1.3.20 and see what happens. If it works I think I'll try going back to 1.4, see if I can go back from 1.4 to 1.1.9 and then go back up to the developers version of 1.4.5. It definitely appears to be a 1.4.10 issue.

Hey I've tried everything I can possibly think of to get this video issue resolved. I can't get out 10' without losing video. Here is part of my log file. I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have. As far as I can tell, I'm successfully on 1.4.10. P3Pro, Nvidia Shield, DJI Go. It was working fine until I upgraded to 1.4.10.

Yeah, log loks fine, you are definitely on the latest firmware OK..

Have you tries it with an iPad.. Just to rule out device/app issues on Android..

im still on the 1.3 with no issues waiting for a newer upgrade the newest is crap. and reformatting the card is a must before any upgrade im concluding

I've exhausted all the things I can come up with. I was successfully running the developers firmware on my Nvidia Shield with my P3Pro. It was working great. I updated the firmware to 1.4.10 and I have awful video loss. I can't get out 10' without getting the video signal loss message. I've tried the new version of DJI Go and have the same issue. I tried the IOS version with my iPad Mini as well. I've gone back to 1.3.20 and then back to 1.4.10, still getting the video loss message. I've checked the cable connections and log files, all show good.

I did a couple of small test flights after I did the very first downgrade to 1.3.2 and it appeared to be working properly. I then decided to do the update to 1.4.1 again to see if it was just a bad upgrade the first time. It did the same thing it did the first time, video signal loss (the center status bar in both Go and Litchi goes from green to red and says video signal loss). The bird, RC and batteries were all updated in 1.3.2. When I downgraded the second time to 1.3.2 from 1.4.1 the signal loss continued. I tried auto and custom channels, tried each channel individually. I even installed the 32 channel hack successfully but that didn't help either. I've got preview set to its lowest setting. Tried hardware and software decoding. Have Shield processing power set to max. I live in the boonies and have flown from this spot hundreds of times with my P2 and P3 so I wouldn't think interference would be an issue. I think I'll shut down my home wifi today just to make sure it's not somehow causing an issue. It's starting to sound like a hardware issue but it seems so odd that the first time it occurred was immediately following the 1.4.1 update.

I have been having this same problem.  I've noticed that if I kill the app on my phone and re-open it, the connection will be restored.  I have not tried this while in the air, though.  It's a pain in the butt.  I still have control of the craft and land it.  Then I kill the app and restart it and it works again.  Then I take off again and pray.  Very frustrating.  I've been nervous to try killing and re-starting the app while in the air.

Okay, by reading some of the newer posts this morning it sounds like this issue is beginning to become a bit more widespread. I've been working on this issue for 3-4 days now and the results have been spotty. Late last night I did the downgrade again to 1.3.2. I relinked my RC this morning. I disconnected the cable going to the gimbal and reconnected it. I checked my ribbon cables and antenna and compass wires. I started out with my iPad Mini (not IOS 9) and DJI Go 2.2.0. Took the bird out. Fired up the RC, started DJI Go, powered up the bird. Looked over the settings, all looked good except for the "Upgrade Required" notification. Put the bird in the air. Had a few pixilation's with the bird close to me (3' off the ground, 10' out in front of me). Flew around a bit 30-50' high, maybe 200' out, had a couple of very quick "video signal loss" messages. Went into HD settings and selected custom channel 20. Flew the bird a bit higher and further out, no signal loss. Brought it back and changed HD channel back to auto. Flew the rest of the battery without issue. Came in and let the bird cool down, swapped battery with a fresh one. Hooked up my Nvidia Shield and DJI Go app 2.1.0. Went back out, fired up. Ran DJI Go and flew with HD on auto and had no signal loss messages. Shut everything down and refired with Litchi Beta 2.1.1. Had a couple of quick "video signal loss" messages. Changed HD channel to custom channel 31, flew out the rest of the battery without signal loss. Kept the bird fairly close, 1000' out, 100-120' high. Considering trying to update to 1.4.1 again but after the crap I've been through the last 3 days, I'm not sure I want to take the gamble. That's where I'm at guys. Is the problem solved? I don't think so but I'm in a much better place than I have been since my initial update to 1.4.1. Everything was perfect prior to the update. Please keep posting your experiences and workarounds here as well.
