Here is a little test that i've done with 3 filters from DJI. The UV filter (The Phantom 3 comes equipped with a UV Filter), ND8 and ND16 filters.
The scenery is not great but you got the idea.
No color modification where made to the footages.
Shooting: 3840 x 2160 30fps / Auto

Note: There is no propellers shasow with the ND filters.

BTW: I have read some commentery in the forum for the Waypoints Intelligent Flight Mode saying that "What the use of it". This example test is a good one! Having the same picture 3 times.

It came in the right time, i am reading about filters, i though that the nd16 couldn't do the job, but as i see its the best option for daylight, thanks!

I always put the ND16 on sunny days and the ND8 on cloudy day. But for good shots at night i don't use them, i use the original UV filter. You can try the ND filters at night to take special night shots.

Does anyone else have difficulties getting the filters on and off? I've had to put some lock graphite onto the thread in an effort to get them on fully.
Even the dealer had issues getting the ND4 on and swapped it out for me.

Yes it is very difficult - I use 2 plastic gloves, that helped a little - but not a easy job

Hi Richard.
Like 'Flight Raptor' could you please explain how you did the synchro. Did you use Waypoints and fly the exact same 3 missions with direction of flight?

Recognize Prévost dans les Laurentides.

Merci.

I think your assumption with using waypoints is correct based on his last statement:

Yes! I run the same mission 3 times with direction of flight without any manual control of the RC.

Very nice idea.

Thanks! I was looking for difference between ND filters and the videos i saw was one shot at a time so i got the idea to put it side by side. This way you can see realy the difference.
You can do the same but with 3 different seasons

I think that although there's a difference (without a ND are over exposed a bit), the bigger issue is the shutter speed that the Phantom uses to compensate. Most feel that shutter speeds over 300 can create a stutter-like effect. There are several topics on this already, but the most important reason to use a ND is to bring the shutter speed down to about two times the frame rate (give or take).

For this kind of shot use the UV filter (included with the P3) or the ND4 and maybe test it with the ND8 by adjusting the ISO and shutter... but not over ND8.

Nice idea although I don't understand why you put the settings on auto. The whole idea of using filters is to bring the shutter speed down to a factor 2 from the frame-rate. This will create motion and eliminate stutter / staccato motion.
Check this interesting reading: ND filters - Shutter speed - FPS

I did that just for the example purpose, to get a general idea of the different ND filter. Normally... yes you have to modify the shutter speed to the frame rate.
