Just wandered what you all think about the fact we will be getting 720p feed from the lightbridge... Really!!..
Im guessing we will see this as the first upgrade for the inspire 2. A little backdating in the scheme of things dont you think?

I can only speak for myself but 720p is more than enough for my planned use (checking exposure, framing shots etc). Unless you're wanting to stream live from your Inspire to the the net, or to a large video wall or something, would a limit of 720p really be that much of an issue?

I mostly use Smooth mode on my Lightbridge equipped craft, S900 and S1000.  It is a good compromise between resolution and reliability of signal.  Now when doing a job that is LOS and with a connection for a direct link to the net or as stated a video wall then I have the option to use 1080i.  The live reveal of the Inspire was streamed on the net via 720p.  It worked in my opinion.

Its only that i carry out inspections close up, when i used the Phantom n go pro with fat sharks i could see a issue, fly around it filming then wait for the card to take snap shots, my thinking was with the iPad and gimble control from the screen, you could really see a fault and guarantee a good pic. Clarity on screen really helps with this type of high level inspection.

Where in the app do you configure the data feed?

I didn't see a "smooth mode" or other settings.

720 with be night and day compared to analog. IMHO what you can see in 720 is good enough for inspections. We use 720 for sewer inspections and it works perfect.

Note that the resolution of the best Fatshark goggles is 800 x 600.  Given that this is less than 720 x1280, does it really matter that you cannot use 1080p?

Point being goggles gave a clear indication what i was looking at, snap shots from card then gave clarity. iPad with 720p will be clear.  When you want to create a beautiful photo you don't need clarity from base station, if you want to see if the lead flashing has a 1mm split in it i m still waiting for the snap shot..........fussy i know.

1080p would of course be better, but 720p is not a deal breaker for me at all. Considering I'm upgrading from a Phantom 2 with no FPV what so ever - anything is better than what I had!

I'm speaking for myself as well coming from Phantom 2 with standard definition view 720P is good enough in my book. I would rather they prioritize time on fine tuning the Inspire 1 and work on video resolution at a later date if its in their plan to do so.
