Can dji confirm this and what fw version do I need on the inspire pro to  make sure the zoom works?

Hi DJI   it would be good to get some more information on the lens specifics for the 14-42 lens e.g. is it the pancake version???   and is there any info on the balance rings.  there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm to specify.  !!!

The following link will bring you to a thread which is the result of a little intuition, thousands of dollars, and unbeleivable amounts of time. In the end what is revealed is that as of now I have identified 14 lenses that are able to be utilized on the X5. Now before revealing the link I must warn that many of these lenses REQUIRE BALANCING SO THE DON'T DO HARM TO THE GIMBLE MOTORS. Please spend the time and money necessary to balance them so you don't damage your gimble. Go here to find out about all the enhanced uses of your X5 ...

This is a great link and provides a really good review for individual selection.   When it comes to balancing is it just matter of getting a total weight for the lens e.g 113 +5-10 grams or more to do with ensuring it is all smooth and vibration free.

I have tried the Olympus 14-42mm lens but find that it is a very tight fit in the gimbal and the knurled zoom ring just binds slightly agains the gimbal body. Anyone else experiencing this?   I expect that I could sand the ring down a bit to increase clearance!!!    Also without any balancing rings there is a harmonic vibration that obviously affects focus. Even replacing the lens cap seems to cure that.

Hi does anybody know if a lens hood is added to the OLYMPUS M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens, will it affect the balance ?

So, Tim...

If reading this correctly, the Olympus 12MM and the Olympus 45MM will not need any balancing ring?

(Inspire 1 Pro Turned Off) What about if when using the 12MM the unit tilts back  (back heavy) or when using an ND it falls forward (front heavy). Does the gimbal with the lens on it need to sit centered with no tilt?

The above would apply to the 45MM as well.....?

I was under the impression by this post that the Olympus 45mm/f1.8 did not need accessories to balance as the other lenses that needed accessories were marked as such in the list. Be warned, it is very unbalanced. I bought the "Fotasy H37B Screw-In Metal Lens Hood Shade for Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 45 mm 1:1.8 Lens (Black)" from Amazon.com and noticed it perfectly balances this lens.
Update:
I also swapped out the Panasonic 15mm for the Olympus 12mm on the list above and found again that the latter is completely unbalanced. It quickly points straight up when the gimbal is not turned on which is the definition of not balanced.  I added the 10g DJI weight ring from the Panasonic as it shares the same filter size and found it gets the lens a lot closer to balanced. Instead of pointing straight up it points at 45 degrees if you try to tilt to fully horizontal with motor off. Since there is no DJI weight ring for the 12mm i'm just going to settle for that.

A partial balance must be better then completely unbalanced? Is there an official word on why DJI does not recommend balancing the very unbalanced 12mm Olympus lens?

I found that the zoom lens is not as sharp as the fixed lenses.  I also find the 12mm Olympus to be the sharpest and it is my "go to Lens"
