Yesterday was cold and foggy, but i wanted to test the Olypus 14-42mm with the Inspire Pro and X5.
Works quite well, zooming while filming does not.

All Firmware latest. 4K 25fps iso 200 f5.6 100sec shutter

This one is the officially confirmed version (pancake lens) and the one I bought and tested. Currently I use a metal ring taped to the lens to balance it on X5 gimbal - cheesy but works as a temporary solution. Seen a few people found a screw-on lens hood + UV filter solution for balancing it but still don't know exact details, hopefully will figure it out soon.

I received my pancake last Friday but I cannot test it yet due the rain. Anyway, I have balanced the X5 with the pancake using 3x 37mm filter rings (w/o lens). The problem is that the balance is a little unstable because the gravity center change when you apply the zoom. I believe we can balance in the middle to have an average.  The lens is exactly that above (electronic focus and zoom).

I found little problems / improvement opportunities:
1. After the first use the pancake do not return to the closed position using the X5. I see a post that say you will need a micro 4/3 camera to do that. Will be a must if DJI introduce a command in the App, for instance.
2. The zoom movement is not so smooth  nor precise as you would like, may be because of the on screen control in the App. I believe that if the App could be programmed to use a stick in the second (Slave) RC for that and/or the left wheel in the Master will be great.
2 .

Did any software or firmware upgrades fix this problem yet? want to have a zoom lens but not buying something that will not work for the DJI X5 and I do not need to buy a camera just to reset this zoom lens?

I have used the 14-42 lens and find it to be a good single lens alternative to having a 12mm and a 45mm.  It is subject to micro bounces if everything, props and gimbal are not balanced well.  I use a ND9 filter to keep the ISO between 100 and 200.

Tahoe_Ed, I have an X5, and the 14-42 zoom lens. The lens does not close when i power down the inspire. is there a solution to this? or will this be fixed in an upcoming firmware update? Thank you very much.

here is another test with the 14-42
two man Operation, alone you have Chance to get any decent footage, the movements are zu fast.

the lens never moves to closing Position, you have to attach it to a regular camera to do this.
