Iam still new to flying quads and wanted to make sure I was taking care of my battery considering the price.  I read the manual and it says to fully discharge the battery after every 20 flights and then recharge fully. But I have also read that you should never fully dicharge lipo batteries. My last question is after flying  do I need to put a charge on the battery after flying or is that just for when your not going to fly for 3 months? Sorry for the dumb questions I just dont want to throw money down the drain. Thanks.

Take your battery to 8% and then recharge the battery after 20 flights.  When you are storing it, the battery will automatically discharge after about 10 days to about 50%.

Gerry thanks for your help. I have just one more question. Lets say I fly today and now dont plan to fly for a week or more now do I need to do anything to the battery for that amount of time or will it be ok to store and then charge it when iam ready to fly? Thanks.

It will be ok.  Just don't run it down to 0%.

You can see the percentage left on your DJI app on your phone or connect your phantom to your computer and check the percentage when you connect the Phantom to the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Assistant_3.6 program and check there for battery level.

Some of the first accessories I got for my Phantom 1 was a spare batter and a LiPo battery checker so I could monitor the battery life.  Shop around and you can pick one up for about 10 bucks.  (I also put tic marks on the batteries to know how many flights I put on each one)
