Hi all,

Flying to the Dominican Republic next week and curious to know if UAVs are allowed in the country?  Couldn't find much online.

Going via Delta airlines and last thing I want is for my P3 to be confiscated at the airport...

Its okay go overthere with you PHANTOM, im from dom. Rep. So just keep The rules un you mind AND enjoy, its not gonna be confiscated...

I recently read that the Dominican now requires a permit for drones. Is this true?  I'm travelling there from Canada next week and want to ensure there won't be any issues.

Confirmed.  Took my P3P there in February and no problems whatsoever.

First application rejected due to my translation error.  

Resubmitted  2 1/2 weeks ago and waiting.  I did send a follow-up email about 1/2 week ago and they told me its in process.

Going in Nov. 2017 and just received my 'APPROVAL' to fly there by their Aviation Division.  Nice!

Good to know so I'll bring mine.  

Just got back from Dominican Republic the other week.  Flew my DJI Spark all over the resort.  Had a great time and no one bothered me.  I did have a permit but no one asked to check it while I was there.  I posted a bunch of videos on my YouTube Channel if you want to check out some of the footage.

I am glad you have enjoyed your time in the DR. I am due to travel there this Thursday but having a time understanding these forms. Would I be risking it if I took my mavic with me and flew it around?

Sorry, missed this post before you left.  Hopefully, everything went okay.  To be honest, no one even ever asked to see my approval letter from DR the whole time I was there.  I think you'll be fine but better safe than sorry.
