After updating the handle kit and the x3 Still nothing.... Both gave a "update succeed" message but th ex3 is dead.
No immage in the app. no movement of the gimbal...

Is it this way on both the Inspire and Osmo?
If so, can you view the hidden log file from the SD card when you attempted to update and post it here.
And did you do 1.6 on the Inspire and 1.4 on the Osmo?

I have the same issue....
Just bought a new osmo hadle for my X3 gimbal.  When I got it, it never powered up which I thought was strange.  The gimbal never powered up but the handle did...  Reviewed some forums and they told me to update the x3 to the latest osmo firmware which I did.  I also got a "successful" result after the update.  However, the gimbal never powered up...  It still works on my X3.  Has anyone had any of the same issues using their X3 gimbal?  Any help would be appreciated.

Without doing an update, are you saying that when you power up the Osmo, the X3 does not do anything and cycle through it's test?
Do you have your Inspire on 1.6? If not, update the aircraft to 1.6.
I don't know why it says SD card ejected, did you remove it while updating.
Try this.

I am on inspire 1.6 and it NEVER powered up and did a cycle test right out of the box and after the firmware update it never cycled the gimbal as it does when on the inspire.

Will try and and reset the firmware per the instructions

Hi, Ken.
Just to figure out,
I think the Trigger + Shutter + Power switch is for resetting the WiFi while the combination of Trigger + Record + Power switch is for upgrading the firmware.
Can you help to double check above message?

According to the records from the SD card, you have upgrade the firmware successfully. It seems that the camera is OK since it can work normally with your Inspire 1. If the problem still exist, I doubt if you have activated the handle yet..You know, for the first time to use the Osmo, we need to activate it via the DJI GO App, please refer to this video:    and this thread: http://forum.dji.com/thread-35551-1-1.html

issue resolved...it was related to the firmware upgrade and then also making sure that wifi is enabled and the dji go app is not turned on until wifi is connected.
