DJI Releases New Firmware v1.4.0.70 for Inspire 1 Pro

  

  

The latest Inspire 1 Pro firmware has been released. Download the firmware update package from the product page on the official DJI website http://www.dji.com/product/inspire-1-pro-and-raw/info#downloads.

  

  

Overview:

  

1.      Firmware upgraded to v1.4.0.70

  

2.      DJI GO iOS upgraded to v2.6.0

  

3.      DJI GO Android upgraded to v2.6.1

  

  

  

Major Updates:

  

1.      Optimized gimbal control.

  

2.      Fixed gimbal misalignment issue when powering on.

  

3.      Fixed flickering issue when ISO is above 800.

  

4.      Optimized image quality for 1080p60 video.

  

5.      Optimized D-CINELIKE color spaces.

  

6.      Improved white balance accuracy in manual mode.

  

  

Note:

  

This firmware can be downgraded to v1.3.0.60 or later only.

Why is the version numbers different between Indoure 1 and Pro? Just for curiosity; what about Inspire 1 upgraded with X5 gimbal?

Those are the major updates, what are the minor ones?

That's it.  Those are all of the fixes that would leave me satisfied.  Please, please, please actually fix the issues rather than just create new ones.

That's how it always was. The inspire1 and Inspire Pro have different version numbers.
If you have both cameras, downloading either firmware is ok.
BUT, 1.4 for the PRO just came out today, so the latest X5 features will not be on the regular 1.6 Inspire1 firmware.

I have the Inpire D verision with the X3 camera if I get the X5 camera and replace the bracket with the one for the X5 how hard or difficult is it to change between the two cameras as far as firmware goes. I know mounting the camera no big deal but does the firmware allow you change between the two.

The latest IOS app hasn't been approved onto the app store just yet... should I wait for it before upgrading the firmware? As of right now the app version available is 2.6.0 released on the 2nd Feb.

Get the X5 camera and the mounting plate - install Inspire Pro FW and you can swap cameras as you like. Works fine

2.6.0 is the latest iOs Go app ( But would expect an update anytime soon because of Phantom 4 )

Could we use this FW on Inspire 1 v1.0 with X3 only? Any benefits doing so?

Can not think of any benefits of doing that - besides I think you would have to have a X5 camera to do the update. ( Have not tried )

I would wait for the next inspire 1 v1 update . This FW upgrade is slated for the Pro. Release notes specify fixes for x5 only

I only see firmware up to 1.3.0.60 on this page... oh I see it now.

Question - I completed the upgrade, it upgraded the camera only to the latest, my aircraft is still at 1.06 and so far the DJI APP has not been released. The battery did not upgrade as I tried the other ones I had. Is this what is expected?

The firmware for the X5 is also in the X3.
So when you get an X5, update it to 1.4 from the Pro page that was released today.
And if your X3 is not updated to the latest 1.6 firmware from the Inspire1 page, then your X3 will also be updated with the X5 firmware when you install the X3 with the BIN file still on the SD card.

Thanks for the info. Just to be clear after everything is updated it will see which camera is on the machine on startup or do you have to chose which one you have mounted.

What does the about page say?
if you downloaded 1.4 from the Pro page and also put each of your batteries in with the SD card then you are all done. If your Inspire X3 was already on 1.6 then there was no battery update.

New update has changed infinity mode for manual focus. Will try in the morning using auto focus lock.

I like the new auto focus. Video seems very nice and sharp

In what way is it new? DJI can you please explain what else has been done on the firmware update? Im sure I speak for the rest of the community, We would like to know ALL the changes in the firmware update.

Before I had numbers at the focus slider - not now
D - Log seems much better ( sorry had only one short test )

(As I can judge after a short try - this is a nice update.)

I happen to have found the video to be sharp and lots of people have noticed changes in the focus. If you have a problem with that, articulate or keep a civil tongue.

Switch between X3 and X5 on a Inspire 1 Pro B/E

Can anyone tell me for sure if it is possible for me to buy a X3 camera and switch between the X3 and X5 with ease? This would be a great thing for me. Partly for having a low cost backup cam but also for being able to use the X3 when I want a couple of extra minutes of flight time or when I would like to shoot some video without having to have to overheat my brain with all the X5 settings.

Can I just have the two cams and switch between them? Do I have to change anything else on the I1 Pro like the gimbal plate?

Does the new firmware work on both cameras?

Is there anything else that needs to be done every time I would like to switch cameras??

I switch between the x5 and x3 constantly so that answers one of your questions, other than changing the gimble plate you need to install the landing gear risers.

I have à PRO, so I already have the gimbal plate for the X5. Can I use that gimbal plate for the X3 or do I have to change to another plate for the X3 cam?

Please dont take it personally, I do not mean anything by it. I said that based off of what DJI-Ken said. Was hoping you would come back with some more info on your findings. DJI will say one thing, while there is something different. (mainly with updates) im wondering if they are just not told all the info on what is in the updates.

I kind of liked the numbers on the slider. It was a good indication if the lens cal worked. if I can get 65 ft on the slider, I knew it worked. if it did not, would only see 14 ft. That was my finding anyway.

I'm sorry, misunderstanding on my part. You don't need to change a thing, the x3 will work even better on the pro gimble plate.

You can use the camera with Osmo

If you have the Inspire 1 case, you will need to do some cutting to get the X5 adapter plate to fit in the case when attached to the Inspire.
The adapter plate kit comes with the feet that you attach to to the legs so the X5 fits without hitting the ground. Although I've tested the X5R on an old Inspire and I did not install the feet and it swings freely on pavement but not carpet. Anyways, you need to install the extensions so you can the X5 higher off the ground.
And since the X5 just got a new firmware release, you would install that and if you X3 is on something lower than 1.6, it will update your X3 as well.
And sorry, I remember you do have the X5, so you do not need to change the plate, just switch X3 to X5 and you are fine.

I've never done a FW update to my Inspire 1 Pro. Is the process the same as the P3P? Is there a tutorial available?

YOU CAN SWITCH cameras without doing anything else.

thank you. I thought I would buy a X3 while Im waiting for my X5 to be repaired. Its not so much money and it could be good to use as a backup.
