DJI is announcing new firmware for the full series of Phantom 3 ( Pro/Adv, 4K, Standard)


Phantom 3 Pro/Adv

1. IS new firmware contains additional NFZ?
2. IS new firmware Geofence ready?

It would be nice if active tracking is available on the P3.

Will this fix the vibrations while hovering? We the Phantom 3 line owners have been suffering from this issue for some time. Only fix is reducing the basic gains. Please include this fix in the update.

any thing for the range issue on phantom 3 standard ? many people are having an issue please look in to this issue

Maybe this will turn my P3S in drone again. Now I have Selfie stick

these update include GEO NFZ?

Do not turn off the remote control and the app during the process ?
Is that mean that the Remote Control, the app and the Phantom must be on during the update ?
Or do we  update the Phantom only before the RC and App ?
This is not clear for me.

hi tim, will the assistance software be available for p3 users?

I posted this in another thread but will do the same here as this seems more aligned to people having the problems.

Has anyone who was having short range loss of transmitter problems done the firmware update and noticed and improvement or fix. The notes for the update do not mention anything about this, but at the same time DJI never admitted there was a problem due to the last firmware update and they pushed this one out rather quickly. What I am hoping is they realized they created a problem, fixed it, and then pushed this one quickly and said to the development crew " tweak a few other easy things so we can put that in the notes but dont mention anything about the big problem we had"

The GEO Beta is not part of this app update, it's it's own separate app and it's 2.4.4 and it's own aircraft firmware. http://www.dji.com/flysafe/geo-system

With my Standard I now have 6 GPS sats inside. The app lost al my preferences. Didnt fly yet,...

Getting weak RC signal inside with RC next to my Phantom. Is this normal?

Is there a list of fixes/changes for the FW specifically?

I am new to the forum and the drone.  I have not flew yet, but have in the past with a vision 2.  I am curious on what the version will be with the RC.  I see the new aircraft version is 1.7.0.  I did see in the past on a post that the RC is a different version from the aircraft.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.  I am flying a Advanced.

The RC is 1.5.7 and your Advanced is 1.7

Glad no more limitations as mine is on its way for repair and I'd be furious if dji updated more limitations...  Even tho I told them not to update me from 1.4.10 but I know they will ignore my request, and expect this new firmware to be put on....

Sorry, I am answering so may questions, that is the P4 firmwar4 update instructions.
For the P3 Pro/Adv, RC on if there's an update and it will update via the app  (if RC is 1.3 or above)
And for the aircraft, R/C off and insert SD card with BIN file and power up aircraft.

update looks "ok" but when I check it on the RC/ipad (on the menu/about) it displayed: AIRCRAFT 1.6.040+

not 1.7xxx (there is a extra +)

Correct, for the Standard since the aircraft is updated via WiFi, you need to have the RC on.
And on the P4, it's the same way except the device is hard wired to the Phantom 4 for firmware update.

I have a P3 Standard and just finished the update.  As soon as I powered on the bird, the RC and then connected with my iPhone it told me there was an update.   Be patient, it will take about 10 minutes or more and for a while it will look as if it is doing nothing.  Mine hung at 40% for several minutes the took of a little.  It just finished!  Hope there are some fixes to the last firmware update that kinda goofed up range and reception.  Oohh! a new intellegent mode button was added!  Nice work, can hardly wait to go out and try it!

Just returned from a "test flight" and RC signal loss remains... at 10m it initiates landing, because for the RTH is too close to the take off point. I will send the unit to DJI, this is just bad

Is this Update only in USA ? The latest Firmware from Dji Site is 1.6....
