What happens if the drone gets wet?

I work on electronics after, fire and water damage.  If the electronics are subjected to water there are things you need to do as fast as possible. Rinse and wash all circuit boards with warm filtered water. Remove all excess water with air pressure. This will get rid of what we call free water. This will help in preventing corrosion. The next step is to get it dried out. We use ovens @ 115 degrees with fans for air movement. Do not go over 120 degrees it will possibly melt or warp the plastic. The electronics will be dried within 8 to 10 hours. Take it out and test for function.  The batteries should probably be replaced.

Salt water is a whole different beast. Save all the parts that you can and use with your brand new DJI Phantom 2 Quad.
Other option:

If you dunk your V+ in freshwater, get it out as quickly as possible and take it apart. Use a hair drier liberally and then put everything in a sealed container and cover it in uncooked rice. Leave it there for three or four days before attempting to turn it back on.
