I have a couple of units to work on this weekend - I will take pictures and write up some detail on how to flash the unit - I am also willing to repair units for a small cost if that's helps folk.

That's great to here! Finally an solution! I'll wait for your tutorial. Thanks a lot!

Hi, is it possible that the wifi module responds to pings although fried? If it was only a ribbon cable for example I should have gotten GPS info on the mobile I believe.. and I don't..  having the exact same issue as described here:

http://forum.dji.com/forum.php?m ... D370%26typeid%3D370

Now I really don't know if it is ribbon cable or wifi module

I'm based in the UK and think I have the same corrupt NAND flash issue on my P2V+, I have a USB to serial port adapter so I'm very interested to see what the recovery procedure to reprogram the NAND flash in the Wi-Fi module is.

I am very eager to see that as well It is probably clear from the dozens of questions I asked on the forum )  I do have this adapter as well but we might be fu***d on a hardware level. I still struggle to determine if this is indeed issue with the wifi-module, since I can ping all the 3 IPs. I'll try to go over the bypassing procedure today. Worst case scenario in my case would be a broken wifi module + broken ribbon cable and/or gimbal board - will make troubleshooting much harder.
I tend to think I have the wifi-module failure since otherwise I would have seen telemetry on the mobile but on the other hand - I can not take pictures by pressing the button on the gimbal and the camera is not recognized by the PC when connected via USB cable..  damn situation
What exactly are your symptoms? Not able to ping one of the IPs or same as mine?

My symptoms are loss of the FPV, i.e., black screen. Telemetry is all fine just no FPV. I cannot ping IP address 192.168.1.10 which is the bottom PCB in the Wi-Fi module, so I'm hoping the NAND flash reprogramming will fix the problem as and when we get the procedure through.

Your issue is pretty clear then and you should be able to fix it. I belive the procedure is described in a link earlier on this thread.. but you know this already for sure. Good luck!!!

Hi all,

Today I dismantled my P2V+ Wi-Fi module to take a look at the bottom PCB (WM301_DM368). The upgrade process described in this thread (http://www.phantompilots.com/thr ... sistant-tool.77073/) is for the DJI Lightbridge unit, which ricom831 also said works for the P2V+ Wi-Fi module. There are lots of photo's in the thread of where to connect the necessary equipment to the Lightbridge PCB but none that I have found so far that show where to connect this equipment to the WM301_DM368 PCB. So if anyone on this thread knows of any pictures of where the connections need to be made to the WM301_DM368 PCB (specifically the UART RX and TX pins and the strap pin for the BSEL) could you please reply. Armed with these 3 key bits of information I will be able to reprogram the NAND flash on my PCB and if successful I'll then happily put some instructions together for everybody.

Thanks

The "lightbridge firmware PROBLEM" thread over at PhantomPilots worked for me.  Start with post #344 for a photo of Phantom_p3's P2V board with pins/pads marked.

A few people mentioned using dm6467_297_ubl.bin rather than ubl1_editedByGaucho.img, but that did not work for me.  For power, I connected my board to the regular P2V connector rather than using a separate power source.

Good luck everyone.

Thanks PTCruiserGT, the picture was the key piece of information I was missing. Looks like DJI have 2 different versions of the same PCB - one with the PCB silkscreen and one without. My PCB is the one without the silkscreen so the picture really helped. I've confirmed today that my Wi-Fi module is suffering from the NAND flash issue since the serial port debug confirms this. The next step is to see if it can be recovered by reprogramming the NAND flash image. Will keep everyone updated.

Hi all. I have put my Wi-Fi module back together this morning and can confirm that I now have FPV working again in the DJI Vision app, which is good news. I will perform a test flight later today. I'm now in the process of writing up a document to share with everyone the procedure that you need to go through to reprogram the NAND flash in the Wi-Fi module - please bear with me as there is lots of detail that needs to go into this. The procedure can be easily undertaken if you are confident with making modifications to electronic PCBs.

Hi fans76590968, to be honest I don't know. I am not familiar with the Wi-Fi module in the P2V so I'm not sure, apologies.

Check the cables around the base of the gimbal, they are most often the culprit as they have been a bit prone to come loose, especially in a hard landing or someting....

I have the same problem from a couple of week...I can see through the app 1 time on 10, more or less...
I've checked drone connectors and are all ok and I never had hard landing, crash or other damages....I'm really going crazy...I don't know what to do...
The problem seems to go from bad to worse  day by day....initially the problem occurs only once in a while, now are more times than not works of those works!!

Another stupid question but if this fixes the problem This then proves that dji is responsible for the entire problem.  Not crash related or any other step they came up with.  Also assuming you store your bird away for a period of time the whole thing would occur again.  It should not be proven to dji that THEY are responsible and should be held liable to fix the issue at their own cost.  Just like recalls on vehicles.  There is no way that this many people messed with internal software programming and caused this.  It is a failure on dji and I would like to, for once see the company stand up and take responsibility and fix their mistake.  How about dji mandatory recall for your phantom 2 birds??m

If not then don't expect many of us to continue to purchase your products anymore.
